Instead of considering the info in the post you just attack the title.

Not too insightful.

Very, very simple really.

Zelensky needs Trump more than Trump needs Zelensky.

A parasite without a host is a dead parasite.

I think the author is making the case that Trump DIDN’T screw up. The title to the article is provocative but the article itself supports Trump’s handling of the meeting.

Your statement on your about page says “Just someone who cares about the free exchange of ideas, preferably good ones....and great quotes”.

So tell me, do you really do that or is that just virtue signalling because attacking the title of a very good point this man made is kind of not that.

Any American who supports Zelensky in this deal is Fredo, taking sides against The Family.

I understand that. Still don’t know why it was posted. Never heard of the guy, and I generally put a FB post below a blog post in my Internet hierarchy.

It's like Russia establishing missile bases on Cuba.

Not exactly. NATO nations already border Russia.

Russia's motivation/justification for expanding its rule, including the invasion of Ukraine, can be understood by Putin's (and many Russians) worldview that emphasizes the historical unity of Eastern Slavs—Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarusians—tracing their origins back to the middle ages.

Putin will expand Russian control over eastern nations once part of the Soviet Union - if allowed.

ā€œThe difficulty in understanding the Russian is that we do not take cognizance of the fact that he is not a European, but an Asiatic, and therefore thinks deviously. We can no more understand a Russian than a Chinaman or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them, except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other Asiatic characteristics, the Russian has no regard for human life and is an all out son of bitch, barbarian, and chronic drunk.ā€ --Statement by Patton on 8 August 1945, as quoted in ā€œGeneral Patton : A Soldier’s Lifeā€.

Provocative title. The author's conclusion is no, Trump didn't screw up at all.

Zelensky's grandstanding seemed so grotesque that it is impossible not to suspect ulterior motives. I won't speculate what those actually are but I'd start the search with U.S. Deep Staters who consider a Trump-negotiated peace to be disagreeable.

OK here's one from left field.

Most of the world's impression of America stems from holyweird movies. I think zelinsky has seen too many and thought that is how people act in this country.

The headline is misleading, not matching the article at all.

I guess it is a click bait headline.

Trump's and Vance's mention of a ceasefire in the near future would mean Russia gets the additional territory it has seized since 2022, can re-equip and then withdraw from the ceasefire and attack Ukraine again without security guarantees.

In brief, Ukraine gets nothing, not even any moderate lengthy cessation of hostilities.

That's why Zelensky refused to sign.

Trump did the right thing. He had the courage to say NO!
Sometimes that is the correct answer. This was one such time.

I get it but why should we foot the bill for a war that pretty much seems unwinable and in which Zelensky already stated he only got half the money Biden gave him.

Where did that go? We give more how do we see it goes anywhere? If Zelensky wants into NATO then with their collective defense agreement, meaning an attack on one is an attack on all, sends the U.S. into a true confrontation with Russia and who will likely be aided and sided with China. That is now us in a world war.
