Glowacki is now spearheading a remarkable new project that will use virtual reality to enable those who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses to undergo their own (albeit simulated) near-death experiences. According to previous studies, there is evidence to suggest that those who do recall such experiences typically go on to enjoy a significant reduction in anxiety and stress levels.
This is perhaps because those people gain a renewed and even transcendental sense of peace and acceptance with regard to death and no longer fear what comes next when they die.
While some scientists have looked into the use of drugs to induce near-death experiences, Glowacki's research has indicated that virtual reality is the safest way to replicate the experience.

I hope you found the root cause of the seizures and resolved them.
There are many types of seizures and the can be very dangerous.
All the near-death experiences I’ve watched were not biblical. I chalked it up as dreaming.
Remember the movie “Flatliners” a few years back where med students erred inducing NDE’s in themselves?
One way to induce an NDE is through inducing hypoxia by increasing the percentage of CO2 in the air a person breathes.
This is how the LSD researchers in the 1960’s screened out test subjects who were prone to bad trips.
Mine was about as Biblical as it gets. Even passed through to a higher level of Heaven as Paul described.
Dr Mary Neal is a spinal surgeon in Wyoming. Her well documented NDE is very Christian.
She and a few others never lost their Divine Connection when they returned from their NDE.
I never fully returned and have been straddling the fence for over 35 years.
I agree.
Yes, I know about Dr. Moody.
Thanks.
Dr. Moody has expressed similar views.
“To Hell and Back” is also a great Audie Murphy movie of his experiences in WW II.
The heck with Near Death Experiences.
I’m hoping to have a Near LIFE Experience.
Fair enough!
My experience mirrors the article “This is perhaps because those people gain a renewed and even transcendental sense of peace and acceptance with regard to death and no longer fear what comes next when they die.”
Once in a group we were ratchet-jawing away when the facilitator commented that this was amazing, talking about death is one of our society’s taboos and we were openly and comfortably talking about it! I promptly asked if I could interrupt for a quick survey? Yes. I went around the table and asked each if they’d had an NDE. Nine yeses, one no, and the no was from the one young lady who did not participate in the discussion.
Then I told the facilitator that for the most part, people who had had an NDE no longer feared death, isn’t that interesting?
Not for want of trying...
I’m going to die and I never truly lived.
Flatliners
That is strangely perceptive observation.
Dr. Paul Merchant:
And what do you have faith in?
Pinhead:
Nothing. I am so exquisitely empty.
Dr. Paul Merchant:
Then it won’t hurt you to die. Will it?
One of my degrees is in psychology, as I wanted to better 7nderstand my NDE. Psychology was worthless.
So I went into neuroscience, specifically researching the interactions between consciousness and the physical body.
I have one very big advantage over other researchers in that consciousness and the human soul is physical to my perception ever since my NDE.
My wife is an MD psychiatrist, retired after over 30 years of clinical hospital work, and a professor at a major medical school.
As a result of being at the university and married to an MD, I attend weekly psychiatry grand rounds at the hospital and many clinical training programs.
At the same time I attend the hospital Institute of Brain Research programs and many conferences and lectures.
I belong to two research groups in Spirituality & Medicine. Several of my friends are the leading researchers in the world on this topic.
In retirement, I am a perpetual student. I was a university professor for many years and feel at home in an academic environment. I live within a few miles of two of the biggest universities, both with medical schools, in the USA so I’m like a kid in a candy shop academically.
Many Dr’s consult with me on idiopathic cases.
I have, that is how I know the nde was not factual and rather a process of the brain dying- misfiring synapses, BUT the experience was enough to shake me and let me know that i never want tomgo, there
It’s good to hear you have been saved.
See post 11.
Your explanation of NDEs is factually incorrect.
Many scientists and religious leaders from all over the world agree on that key point.
