These two asteroids are an opportunity mankind should take advantage of.

Well, DOGE just helped NASA save $500,000 by canceling their subscriptions to Politico
Once more fraud waste and abuse and DEI is cut, there should be enough money in their budget to save mankind.

A good opportunity for America to recover its badly tarnished reputation.

I am not usually a fan of government spending, but I think that it is critical that we have the best possible understanding of potential species-killing asteroids. We are on the verge of a technological leap that will make a species- or civilization-killing asteroid almost impossible, we just have to make it for another few decades. Gathering all of the potential information we can is a great first step, and I fully back the expenditure of whatever is necessary to get the maximum amount of information from these close asteroid approaches. Hell, just fire another few thousand federal “workers” and that’ll pay for it.

Never underestimate the government’s ability to make things unimaginably worse.
Look how defending against pandemics caused by viruses crossing species worked out.

Give use hundreds of hundred of billions of dollars in tax money to “save you” now. Don’t think just give us the money!
We need a new scam since the old Climate Change one is failing!

I think all of NASA’s money should be focused on creating a Moon base first.

Info released this morning show that asteroid will certainly miss.
Now, if NASA has funding cuts they will threaten to hit it so that it does hit earth.

Very foolish that we don’t have a defense for this .
The technology should be there by now
To: silverleaf
It’s been over 12,000 years since a major hit. I’m thinking this is a bunch of liberal hysteria.

"Key for Earth’s defense" Hmmm...
Or, an opportunity for the leftover DEI morons that suffuse NASA to make the ultimate mistake/miscalculation: Perturb a near-miss flyby into a direct hit...
