Losing a pet is hard.
They are totally innocent and have unconditional love for you.
Condolences
This is why I didn’t want another German shepherd as I haven’t gotten over losing Panzer- now you know my handle- panzerkamphwageneinz - ain’t got nothing to do with being a nazi - just an amazing strong beautiful German Shepherd Dog who still makes me cry- I’m sorry for what you’re facing- give them a great steak dinner and say farewell for now.
Now I’m crying
I miss the 2 dogs I’ve lost over the years more than the people. Give yourself time to grieve for her and then save the life of new friend who needs you as much as you need him/her.
Oh Kevin you have my sympathy. My family has gone through the same on multiple occasions. For me it’s harder to lose a beloved dog than a person, it seems. I’m crying with you now.
Prayer For Loss Of A Pet
Dear Heavenly Father, You made such a beautiful world and filled it with so much loveliness. Thank You for the animals and birds, and particularly for the pets that mean so much to us and which help to brighten the lives of so many people.
But Lord, You know that too often the lives of our pets pass away long before we do, and it is so hard to say goodbye when a faithful and much-loved animal is finally laid to rest.
So as we say our goodbyes to this special animal that we have all grown to love so much, I ask for Your loving-comfort to fill each of our hearts, knowing that we all are feeling an aching void inside.
Look down especially I pray, on all those who may be going through a similar heartbreak of losing of their own pet, especially I lift up those people that are old and lonely or infirm and isolated. Draw close to all who are mourning the loss of a pet today. May this be a time when each one of us draws closer to You, with grateful thanks for all Your goodness and grace to us. In Jesus’ name, amen.

With you. Sincerely.
After our 3rd of set of 3, the wife got an African Gray. He keeps me sane, tragedy being that he may outlive me as well (his prior owner died, as hard on them as this is on us).
I’m still not ready for another pup.
Heavy heart...
It’s NEVER easy.
Our last beloved dog Pinky had cancer and couldn’t walk anymore, was so shaky and lost control of her bladder. She was suffering so I called the vet. It was Friday and she didn’t work over the weekend, so I was to bring Pinky in Monday. Well she began actively dying on Saturday. She waited for me to come home from work on Sunday. She whimpered a little but my daughter and I were with her, holding her and singing to her. She must have known at that point she was safe to go, and she died in my daughter’s arms. The SPCA cremated her for free and sprinkled her ashes along with other pets in Fairmont Park.
Everyday when there’s a deep blue sky I look into the universe and tear up thinking of Pinky. It is easier now but the pain of missing her has never stopped. I thank God for having blessed our lives with her. My current dog Bonnie is 13 and also has cancer. She’s still happy but I know her time will come (like us all), and I’ll be there with her when she leaves this world.
I’m happy for Kacie that her master loves her so much, and that you’ll be there for her. Make sure you tell her you love her and that she’s such a good girl. Be strong for her, you can do it. If you can, hold her while she leaves. Stay close with God throughout and take good care of yourself. He loves her too, He created her. You are both in my prayers.
Two dogs ago we had Angel Paws start coming to the house.
Not as stressful for everyone.
My little dog perked her ears up right before she passed like she was crossing over and saw a old friend on the other side. Actually made me feel a little better about it. Couldn’t just drop them off.
Go get another as soon as you can.
My heart goes out to you, my friend.
The very worst of days. I’ve been through it many times. I will be thinking of you and your dear dog. Know that she loves you as much as you love her.
My heart goes out to you, FRiend.
Been there 5 times already, and it NEVER gets easier.
Prayers for peace and serenity as you do the right thing.
Now I’m crying.
If you love a pet, there are thousands of good times, and one of the worst days of your life.
One of the hardest things to do to say goodbye to your best friend, I’m so sorry.
There will be animals in heaven. I’m 100% certain. God gives us these animals to help us understand what unconditional love is. That’s why their lifespan is short too, to teach us how to grieve. Dogs and horses are truly our best friends throughout human history. I’m sorry her time has come, and my heart breaks for you as well.
Heartfelt prayers for your situation and loss.
My wife is dyeing from stage 4 liver and pancreas cancer, my two German Shepherds health is getting worse and worse. I am currently spending over $500 a Month just for their problems. I am holding off from easing their pain completely, because my wife loves them so much. I do not want to break her heart, knowing her time with me is short.
On the outside I am her rock, but on the inside I am barely holding on. Like Job, I still say, naked we come into this World, and naked we all shall return. Well I know my wife will, as for my dogs, only God knows for sure where they will go, yet in it all it is the LORD who gave me all, and the LORD who has the right to take it all away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
My condolences Kevin.
I’m in the same situation right now. Yes, it’s gut wrenching and sad. She’s thirteen and has a mass in her chest and I’m doing all I can to keep her comfortable. She’s been the best friend. Prayers.
About two years ago we had to make that same painful decision for our 12 lab mix. I too cried and we miss him a lot. We debated about getting another dog, but we found an adorable lab mix puppy at a local animal rescue group and now have a 2 1/2 year old lab now sleeping on our couch like she owns the place.
