Trump always makes a big performance routine out of his “welcoming” handshake with Macron. Only with Macron.
One day, we’ll find out what’s behind it.

Macron tried one of these...

...and the President was having none of it.

Another worse than useless globalist. I’d like to see Trump and Vance incite the people of the western democracies to peaceful ousting of their globalist masters worldwide.

Can’t remember the details but Al Gore tried some maneuver to show he was the macho winner of his handshake with George W. Bush. As if in a river front bar. Maybe before a debate? Came off stilly and stupid looking.
Another time he invaded W’s space by coming close enough to kiss W on the cheek while he was answering a town hall question. Creepy.

In the world Trump came from, the handshake has significance. I would not expect some epicene reporter to understand.

I thought Trump looked annoyed.

I bet Macron wanted to do the “French Mistake” but had to settle for a handshake

I get the impression Macron and Trump genuinely like each other. That comes through as they readily agree to work together on a lasting peace in Ukraine.
