In a dedicated X article, Raja Koduri, who is said to be one of the brains behind Intel's graphics division, has given us a rundown of the actual problems within the organization, detailing organizational flaws and much more.
"You don't learn when you don't ship."
"The spreadsheet & powerpoint snakes – bureaucratic processes that dominate corporate decision-making – often fail to grasp the true cost of surrendering performance leadership. They optimize for minimizing quarterly losses while missing the bigger picture.
A climate of fear surrounds any attempt at skunkworks initiatives outside established processes – one misstep, and the bureaucratic snakes strike."

Intel is stuck in entrenched corporate arrogance.
Remember Rambus C-Rim?
Intel thought they were going to force the market to use Rambus memory sticks at considerable profit to themselves because after all, THEY were Intel and they’re THE Best!
And such thinking continues to permeate the company, they can’t innovate if they’re so far up their own backsides that they can’t get beyond “But we’re Intel!”
Aren't they running third in a two company race for graphics?
NVidia
AMD
Intel
(Yes, I know Samsung and Qualcomm are players).
I know a bunch of x-intel guys they all said intel was not so good.
I know a bunch of x-amazon guys and they said the same thing..
The ultimate in process over product is the government where its all process. (that is until. who knows what happens next.)
I still have my old rambus machine somewhere. It is only virtual today but I still have it as hardware somewhare.
Might still even have an old Itanium proc. I hated those POS
I once wrote “The Joy of EFI” which might still be out there somewhere.
(I hope not)
“The spreadsheet & powerpoint snakes...”
Now that’s the best description I’ve ever heard!
Ah, the love of having one stick of rambus dram, and having to put a “continuity rimm” into a slot or the machine wouldn’t boot.
Intel never learned anything from that.
must resist talking about rimms, and dimms
The Monica and Bill computer with proprietary 220 memory.
.
Intel has about 0% of the dedicated GPU market. That is add in cards.
Intel has about 66% of the onboard GPU market. That is the GPU built onto the motherboard.
So intel is the largest manufacturer of GPUs. But they are garbage GPUs.
Except for x86 processors Intel has never been successful with any other product. The list of failed products rivals Google.
Maybe he should have said “you don’t EARN without shipping.”
If you’re a manufacturer and you’re not moving product, you’re not making money.
