That’s getting harder to do here. The state is trying to implement a PER MILE tax of 2.6 cents per mile, with a 10% tax ON TOP OF THAT, along with one of the highest gas taxes in the country that you KNOW they will not repeal, even though they say they will. Right now they say it’s “optional”, but this IS Washington. They will go from reading your odometer when you renew your tabs to eventually requiring a GPS device, unless some serious reforms are made in our legislature. I just don’t see that happening here. Not to mention the idiotic “parents can’t tell their kids what to do after the age of 13” bullcrap bill they’re also trying to pass.
I have a WA state ID card, CCW license, and voter card,
WA sends absentee voter ballots to me.
I have a Hawaii drivers license and I pay Hawaii county
home taxes.
I own a home in Hawaii, which is where I spend most my time
but I also have an Address in WA state, I could have two,
or even ones in FLA or Missouri.
I don’t know what your resources are.
If you have family in other states leverage that.
Addresses, drivers licenses, what ever.
You could stay much cheaper in your home if you
improvise.
