Why do they always care so much about a motive rather than just that this "asylum seeker" tried to kill someone? If the person has a good excuse, killing someone is OK?

They always have to search for the motive. Looks like he already told them what it was. I was in law enforcement for 38 years, when the law was being enforced. What BS!!!

With the exception of self-defense, testimony regarding motive should never be admissible in cases of homicide or attempted homicide because its only purposes are to enable the guilty to avoid execution and to entertain and bullsh*t the jury and the public.
