Americans repeat certain words with mindless ease without once regarding their definitions, their real meanings or their connotative meanings. Their use or perhaps their misuse is a good reflection of the health of our culture or the lack of it.
Without including four letter words and expletives with the exception of…love, you will not be able to reach the end of this list without remembering that you have probably heard one or more of these words today alone. If you do not recall hearing them for a while it may be that you live an isolated life in the mountains or you have found company that would be the envy of any halfway intelligent person.

Don’t most people that choose to go into psychology do so because they themselves have psychological issues, so they in essence are their first patients?
Thank god inseminator/inseminated are allowed. Have no idea how to carry on a normal every day conversation without those words.
Psychiatrists/psychologists/therapists/social workers, when let loose inside the mind of a “damsel in distress” female mind, are, more and more often these days, bent on fomenting marital chaos, and precipitating divorce filings.
> I minored in psych in college and was disgusted at how fluid the whole academic realm is. <
As bad as college psychology is, college schools of education are much worse. Literally everything is correct at the same time.
Pick up an education journal and you’ll see what I mean. One article says group students by ability. That’s the ticket! The next article totally contradicts the first one, and says group them by age. The third article says don’t group them at all. On and in it goes.
I was a chemistry major (no ambiguity in that subject). But I had to take some education courses to get certified to teach. Those courses were maddening.

I'll bet. I have 3 degrees and attended several state schools. My logic professor at Cal State (Logic 101 was mandatory) was an ex hippy with long hair and came to class in jeans and sandals and his life's philosophy were extreme leftist.
Couldn't stand that guy or his class.
People don’t use the word “psychiatrist” much nowadays, and hardly ever use the word “psychoanalyst,” but lots of people still have therapists.
Psychiatrists are the people who prescribe the pills and put labels on different behavioral problems. Not many people think that psychiatrists have any answers at all to life’s troubles, but plenty of people are seeing therapists to get through life.
Like, "Gender Equality." "African American Studies." Etc.
