Looks like they settled on Aaron Taylor-Johnson. He was “Kick Ass” years ago, Quicksilver in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Kraven the Hunter”. He seems up to the challenge and doesn’t scream woke or homo. Well - I’m always leery of hyphenated names.
