Berkeley, California is now a TOTAL ghost town - 16 minute you tube video

Metal Leo>>> Berkeley, California has turned into a ghost town, walking downtown on Shattuck Avenue you can’t find anything open. It looks like every business left.

***** Yikes! I was there a few times when the Steets were crowded with people and students, with all store fronts occupied. And paying top rents! Metal Leo has many other videos of California cities, with dead and abandoned streets. That need the Trump effect really bad.

Just look at how many people no longer have to slave all day for some rich greedy business owner, they can now spend quality time with their friends and family. That’s a WIN WIN in my book.

“Well, obviously the solution is that city just needs to raise property and sales taxes and increase the min wage.”

And also cut the police budget again.

That’s what the implementation of a communist utopia gets you...

Had a rather uncomfortable experience in Berkeley more than 20 years ago.

I lived in So. Cal. and was driving back from Santa Rosa on the I5. Realized I was low on gas. Saw a sign to Berkeley and thought - university town (imagining Irvine).Found a gas station headed to the office to pay. Became aware of two undesirable, tattoo covered individuals walking one either side of my car.

Instinct told me to run! Glad I did, found out later the reputation Berkeley had.

So sad for decent folks who must live there.

I worked in the Bay Area in from January 2016 through February 2017. I lived in Hayward, pretty close to Berkeley. There was a good pizza place in Berkeley, right in the area where this video was taken and we went there on the occasional Saturday afternoon.

Back then, that whole area was very lively. The shops, restaurants and bars were hopping and the sidewalks were crowded, though it was mostly leftists.

Weird to see it so desolate now. Leftist policies and their results on display again.

Nice places eventually rot and turn into dung heaps.
The last thing you want is to see your community hailed in the media as one of the ‘nicest places to live.’ Every dingbat in the country will make a beeline to you’re town expecting bread and honey. Then they’ll sit around growing bitter and jealous and start wrecking and overwhelm the voting roles. Then come the politicians, promising good things at our expense. They strip away the laws that maintained public order and chaos ensues. Then taxes go up as the tax base shrinks.

I suspect all of that has already occurred here and they’re onto then final act: the college and certain well-heeled alums get together and pay the city politicians for official sanction. Ever seen a city politician that will turn down a bribe? They want to get the hell out of there too!

They buy out, condemn, or (I suspect) hire antifa to burn out the businesses and in there place build neat stacks of rabbit hutches with a substantial “commercial district.” Then the process begins anew— only next time the neighborhood will look like post-soviet Romania.

They’re here in Colorado voting for radical, gun-grabbing politicians, whining incessantly and running red lights.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
As I’ve posted elsewhere, tens of thousands of Marxist Democrat leftists have migrated there, mainly from the West Coast cities they destroyed, and have now completely TRASHED one of the country’s most beautiful States. And in doing so they have brought opprobrium upon it and a terrible shame upon those whose families have lived there for generations. THIS is the sad legacy of the Marxist Democrat Party.

Yep, and for thousands of years those kind of people have been referred to as robbers, thieves, brigands, crooks, and outlaws, universally looked upon as worthless trash.
