Piker ping-pongs between them, offering mordant insights on irritating New York Times columns, Elon Musk tweets, and Jesse Watters meltdowns. His style is open-ended and rich with digressions—nothing canned, no artifice—and regardless of what he’s currently roasting, Piker is assertively unscripted. Like many of us, he reacts to the bamboozling deterioration of 21st-century life in real time. Unlike most of us, he does it in front of an enormous audience, every day, with a chronic exasperation perfectly tuned for the moment.
