Vice President J.D. Vance on Wednesday warned the Ukrainian president against attacking President Donald Trump, saying that 'badmouthing' him in public would only backfire.
Vance spoke to DailyMail.com hours after Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky accused Trump of living in a Russian-made 'disinformation space.'
The extraordinary language on both sides comes at a critical time in the war between Ukraine and Russia, as Trump pushes for a speedy resolution.
'The idea that Zelensky is going to change the president's mind by bad mouthing him in public media, everyone who knows the President will tell you that is an atrocious way to deal with this administration,' said Vance during an exclusive interview in his West Wing office.
At the same time, Trump weighed in with his own attack on Truth Social.
'A Dictator without Elections, Zelensky better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left,' he wrote.
Vance said Zelensky had been getting 'bad advice' on how to deal with the new administration and for the past three years had been told he could do nothing wrong.

It was not and is not apparent that Trump was going for win-win. The Ukrainians in general, abd not just Zelensky, are not on board. I will add Eastern Europe as a whole, and all political sides.
If I were Trump and team I would worry about this situation looking terrible to the public. Ukraine was and is the plucky underdog. FR is a bubble of its own.
Worst case scenario is you get a “third party” coalition in this war, and ongoing, that is going to go nuke asap.
Trump has a good VP he can trust this term.
Zelensky has no comprehension of the huge degree to which interpersonal communications affect deals.
Deals are won and lost based on the quality of interpersonal communications.
He pissed off Trump and Vance.
Bad move.
Meanwhile, Russia is saying all kinds of pleasant and constructive things, which makes them preferable to deal with.
Good move.
People like to be treated well.

Oh please, people have been viciously bad mouthing, lying about, concocting lawsuits against, and even trying to kill Trump for 9 years, and he has attacked very few of them.
Trump has been called every name in the book.
Frankly, the Ukraine has a choice between win - win and lose big.
I do not feel that Zelensky represents the Ukrainian people and I am pretty sure that the EU does not represent the the best interests of the Ukrainian people.
The EU is looking for a win - lose proposition where the Ukraine is the lose side.
As soon as the truth of what has been going on with the Ukraine War comes out and the reality of how badly we have been played sinks in, there will not be a lot of enthusiasm for the Ukraine project here in the US.
Time to stop the fighting, turn the page and get on with a realistic plan for the serious business of rebuilding the Ukraine and the lives of it's people.
A win -win is the solution that everyone can get behind.
