US Hockey team wants Trump at Canada final after fights

Bill Guerin, general manager of the U.S. men’s national ice hockey team, invited President Trump to Thursday’s 4 Nations Face-Off championship game in Boston following the president’s history-making visit to New Orleans for the Super Bowl.

“We would love it if President Trump was in attendance. We have a room full of proud American players and coaches and staff,” Guerin, who is also general manager of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, said during a Monday appearance on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom.”

“And listen, we’re just trying to represent our country the best way we can,” he added.

Thursday’s championship game of the first-ever men’s 4 Nations Face-Off tournament will pair Canada against the U.S. in a battle that may reignite the fighting energy displayed at their group-stage clash over the weekend, which saw three fights in the opening nine seconds. The U.S. won Saturday’s game 3-1.

Guerin, a three-time Olympian for Team USA during his playing career, said he thinks Saturday’s on-ice tension was increased by the current political standoff between the two countries; there were boos from the Montreal crowd during the pregame playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

“I think a little bit of everything. Canada-U.S. is a huge rivalry in hockey,” he said earlier in the interview.

President Trump’s recent comments about taking over Canada and even calling the northern country the “51st state” have been repeatedly rejected by Canadians. Outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who attended Saturday’s game in Montreal, has called the annexation threats a “distraction.”

The president also hit Canada with new tariffs earlier this month in an effort to curb the flow of migrants and fentanyl from the northern border. But the tariffs were delayed for at least a month after the two leaders struck a deal.

Did I see the NHL add support for trannies on their official X account?
They definitely added a homo game to the final.
Do they want Trump in attendance for that? That would be a big middle finger to his supporters.

“...it would be a black eye for Trump to go there and then have Canada win.”

Does it matter who wins that much? Winning accomplishes nothing important except makes money for some. Next week these players will be back into the grind of their respective league play trying to make the post season to make more money. It’s a profession to them.

But having your National Anthem booed like it was, is an insult. And Trump being there to support our team, win or lose, would be a great indication of the citizens that he means to support everyone, win or lose.

They started it. Is it any different than the MSM taking cheap shots at Trump for helping the country? If they want to throw hatred, we’ll throw unity back. I hope he makes it there.
