Most people don’t realize how fragile our bodies are and how much Earth protects us.
We can transverse galaxies but we need
to have an Earth environment to do so.
Just check the health of our Astronauts.
They don’t do so well.
The Apollo astronauts who went to the Moon (orbited and/or landed) - and who were the only astronauts to leave the Earth's protective magnetic field - had an average age at time of death of 86.2 years. (Some of them are still alive.)
That is significantly higher than the average life expectancy of Americans in general.
