As it stands...none of the EU countries will be sending troops to “Z”. The USA isn’t either.

The DMZ will be patrolled by Chinese and Turkish troops. EU doesn’t want to be there.

That’s pretty much it. If it was going to happen, it would have already happened.

The best solution for everyone, including Zelensky, is replace him with a pro Russian government.

The killing stops. No need for peacekeeping troops. Elections delayed for years, much as they are being delayed now.

Russian troops will downsize, with para-police in the oblasts that voted to join Russia, because they will remain as Russian oblasts.

The good news.

The refugees can return.

Russian natural gas will flow into Ukraine, paid for by the transit tax of the Russian gas that Europe will decide to return to using, since there is no other source for that much. That transit tax will fund Ukraine nat gas consumption (that they often stole before, tolerated by GAZPROM since it was a friendly country)

Reconstruction? Russia will fund the reconstruction of their new oblasts. The EU can fund the rest, if they really care about reconstruction rather than dominating the government. The UN may ante up, too.

No more annual US $150B departing a country with $37T in debt. No more Euro drain or UK pound drain, other than what they provide for reconstruction.

Zelensky will be allowed an exile residence, assuming anyone will want to fund it or provide a refugee visa.

In general this is great news for everyone. Pretty simple to arrange, too.
