I have not been very happy about all of this. Many of these people demanding we stand up for Canada against Donald Trump not long ago wanted Canada (Dominion) Day cancelled due to the colonial wrongdoings against the natives and also participated in vandalism of statues and other publicly placed items recognizing our history and past leaders.
I also recall a teacher at my high school back when the first free trade deal talks in 1988 took place wearing a “Don’t Trade Me” button on his lapel and had a poster in his classroom depicting caricatures of Ronald Reagan and Brian Mulroney with the declaration “Canada does not belong to these two men”. So now they want free trade??
And, of course, they are annoying.

Can any real Canadians chime in how much of Canada hates us even more? In my experience most of of Canada doesn’t feel this way but then I haven’t been to there since 1998 so I have no recent experience to gage.

Are used to run in the Canadians all the time in my line of work. I would tease them- Only one thing wrong with Canada. It’s full of Canadians. Their first line of defense was always, and I mean always- yeah but at least we get free healthcare. Ridiculous people.

The 1995 referendum came within a few thousand votes of Quebec being given a mandate to separate and negotiate a new partnership with the rest of Canada. Nowadays, some think we would have been better off with Quebec going their own way instead of making endless petty demands from the rest of the country.
Lived in the UP of MICHIGAN nearly my whole life.
I remember watching and hoping it passed.
Dealt with them from Quebec since they used the roads cross the UP instead of going over the top of the big lake. The friggan road was so bad up there.
What a bunch to deal with.
The Canadians that go to molar city cross from Yuma AZ have to watch it now. Aint really safe to cross and get teeth work done now like it used to be.
