The Trump administration has indefinitely banned the Associated Press from the White House over the wire service's refusal to change AP style from the Gulf of Mexico to the 'Gulf of America.'
Deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich said on Friday the AP's decision 'is not just divisive, but it also exposes the Associated Press’ commitment to misinformation.'
Budowich wrote: 'While their right to irresponsible and dishonest reporting is protected by the First Amendment, it does not ensure their privilege of unfettered access to limited spaces, like the Oval Office and Air Force One.'

The name change is an "In Your Face" to Joe Biden and his minions who directed a drilling ban in the Gulf of Mexico.

Trump got criticized for such a petty thing as renaming the a body of water.
But if it rid the WH press room of the AP it was a big deal.
Trump taking down Elite Stream Media one at time on a daily basis.

A great troll would be to go for the belly of the beast—the Associated Press style book.
He should say that since the US government is paying the Association Press through NGOs he should get to decide what is in the style book.
(It is used as leftist propaganda—for example as far back as 2013 it banned the use of the phrase “illegal aliens” and all the mass media clowns obeyed.)

Variation: He could insist that illegal aliens must now be referred to as “illegal invaders” in all mass media outlets or they are banned from the WH.

Distraction - the media will rage about this injustice, he's a tyrant, he wants to name it Trump Pond, etc. The longer they lose focus on the important things, the more that Team Trump can get fixed and improved without them having the time and opportunist and artificially generated public opposition.
2. Dealing - it gives Trump another chip in the pot to throw the Left another bone in negotiations. He cares nothing about it, but they will have to give up something to get it back to "normal". A free win for the good guys.

But using this tactic too frequently, will make it too familiar to all.
It's apparently causing fits with some people in America.
Most people can only focus on one, maybe two things, at a time. At the very least, this is noise that keeps them busy and guessing.
