Astonishing footage captured the moment a kayaker was swallowed whole by a humpback whale off Chilean Patagonia for a few seconds — before he was miraculously spit back out. Adrian Simancas was kayaking in the Strait of Magellan in Bahía El Águila last Saturday when the beast emerged from the water and easily devoured the young man and his yellow kayak, according to video incidentally captured by his father, Dell, who was trailing behind.
“I thought it had already eaten me and swallowed me,” he told the Associated Press.“ Yes, at first I thought I had died,” Adrian added. “It was like, of course, a lot of terror because I thought no, no, there was nothing I can do.”
After he was freed from the whale’s mouth, his father can be heard telling his son to stay calm. But a new fear quickly emerged. “When I came up and started floating, I was scared that something might happen to my father too, that we wouldn’t reach the shore in time, or that I would get hypothermia,” Adrián said. He was seen on video swimming in the frigid water over to his father’s kayak and the two were able to safely make it to shore.

Must have been a Liberal
first thing I would have done is went and bought lottery tickets...
It is simple. The Whale could not swallow him anyhow if it tried, too big. They have baleen plates that act as a filter rack to prevent anything larger than herring or mackerel from getting through and can only feed on Krill and small fish. Nothing bigger can get past the baleen plates anyhow. So the whale had no choice but to spit him back out.
:-)
Around here the biggest threat aside from a pack of wild dogs would probably be a cottonmouth snake while bank fishing. Those darn things (cottonmouths) can be really aggressive — the most so of any snake I’ve ever dealt with.
It was a female whale that decided she wouldn’t swallow any seamen.

“I got a great recipe for carp.”
Except for the cooking time this recipe was originally intended for Antelope but would also work well for Carp. Build a nice fire and let it reduce to coals. Throw the Carp on the coals and let cook for thirty minutes turning over once half way through. Take the Carp and throw it away and then eat the coals.
Joking of course, but I have always found Carp to taste too “muddy” for some reason. I guess the BBQ sauce would hide that. :)
My favorite recipe for 🐠🐟 fish is:
Long Jon Silver’s (seriously) 🤣🤣🤣
They advertised in my area just last week
I only know of one and it’s in a location I prefer to not go
So I’ll have to look a bit
It was pricey even when I was last there about 8-9 years ago
What about noodling for big catfish?

I got a great recipe for carp. It takes a thin cedar shingle and a lot of barbecue sauce a long time in the oven. You can find it on line I’m sure. 😉>>> And the recipe says discard the carp and eat the cedar shingle serves two.
He’s lucky he didn’t get krilled!!
