The classic argument against homeschooling is that kids who don’t attend a government school will miss out on the “socialization”. This is socialization.
My answer to that question was always “What do you want your child to learn from other children?”
When people ask me if I’m worried my children won’t be socialized, I tell them no, I’m not raising socialist.
Ah yes, the “socialization”.
The learning of how to:
- Be disrespectful to adults
- Take drugs
- Drink alcohol
- Accept queer theory
- Accept critical race theory
- Be bullied
- Perform oral, anal, ..., sex
- Be sexually abused by teachers
- ...
All the things that homeschooled kids would avoid because homeschooling, almost exclusively, is done because the parents actually care...and don’t just use the school as a baby sitter.
