Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, prepares to testify before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee's Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic at the Rayburn House Office Building on June 3, 2024, in Washington, DC. Getty Images Funding for a museum exhibit focusing on former COVID czar Dr. Anthony Fauci was scrapped by the Department of Health and Human Services last week — one of more than $180 million worth of contracts that have been axed.

HHS’ National Institutes of Health (NIH) had been slated to dole out $168,000 for the Fauci exhibit, which was expected to be completed by the end of July, according to a Friday announcement from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“In the past 48 hours, HHS canceled 62 contract[s] worth $182 million. These contracts were entirely for administrative expenses — none touched any healthcare programs. This included terminating a $168,000 contract for an Anthony Fauci exhibit at the NIH Museum,” DOGE posted on its official X account.

“Just imagine the sheer ego of a man who sought a museum exhibit to honer himself while still alive.”

I don’t think we need to imagine since it’s in our faces.

But if there’s no such museum exhibit, we R’s won’t have the honor of micturating on it (and loading up on cheap brewski to do so).

As I commented elsewhere, having an exhibit devoted to Fauci at the NIH is like having an exhibit devoted to Hitler at the National Holocaust Museum.
