Store Nothing in the Cloud – EVER!
Armstrong Economics ^ | 10 Feb 25 | Martin Armstrong

The Washington Post reported Friday that the United Kingdom’s deep state has demanded that Apple create a back door for them to retrieve all the content any Apple user worldwide has uploaded to the cloud—what would be an unprecedented erosion of online privacy and civil liberties.

This works because once the UK seizes your data, they can hand that to the Feds in the states, and your Constitutional rights are NOT violated because the US government did not illegally seize it without a warrant.

The American Revolution Was Over This Very Issue And Starmer’s Government is Doing What King George III Did I store NOTHING in the cloud – EVER!!!!! Why? Because the government can order them to turn over whatever they want without your knowledge. Since they merely store it, they turn it over without blinking an eye. They have NO CONSTITUTIONAL interest in whatever it might be.

When they then create laws like they have on child pornography that the mere possession is a crime and they do not need to prove that you actually obtained it or from where, if they claim you had it in the cloud, that would be it. You do not even get to pack your bags or bring a toothbrush.

Under no circumstances ever store ANYTHING in the cloud, for you have no constitutional rights, and they can claim whatever they desire. They can put stud=ff in your account and send you to prison, saying it is yours and no judge will listen to you – EVER! The Washington Post reported that the British government’s undisclosed order was issued last month. It requires Apple to give officials blanket capability to view fully encrypted material. This means that Apple MUST assist British authorities on command. The Post noted that the access sought by the UK “has no known precedent in major democracies.”

The LEFT only cares about themselves, and if you dare to resist, you must be guilty. The Starmer government is destroying civilization, crumbling the very basic foundation of liberty. They want something – how dare you say no!!!!!!!!!!!!! The LEFT is ruthless, and this is how they destroy everything. Biden, when he was president, targeted guns with the end goal of disarming America entirely. He has stated: “No amendment to the Constitution is absolute.” The fundamental objective is to compel everyone to register every gun so they can enter your house without a warrant to seize your weapons.

The Fourth Amendment declares,…..

“Also, I wonder if any tech geniuses could suggest a better way to store valuable data, e.g. priceless photographs and documents. I have had external drives suddenly become damaged and the data irretrievable, even by supposedly expert professionals. Any ideas?”

My family photos are on my PC with a backup drive.

Also stored on a USB drive.

Also on my phone.

Also on Google photos to share with family.

I think some family have downloaded them so that makes about seven locations.

I feel sorry for people that get my pics and files. They will be bored out of their minds. As I always say, the real danger is planted evidence among all of your files in the Cloud, not most people’s actual files.

Complete connecting the dots.

Apple and Google aren’t doing this to hand cloud information to the government. They steal everything else from you. The “cloud” is a nice sorting box for what they didn’t think of, but is of value to, at least, you.

It’s way too late!

Any data you have on a system that connects to another network, like your ISP, is already scannable and accessible.

Thinking that “only” data you deliberately put on another network is the only vulnerable, exposable data is moronic.

Unless someone has collected every packet coming in and sent out on their computer and analyzed its communications partners and end points, and the data it exchanged, you would never know.

Right!?

15 or more years ago, I was at a tech event, maybe 200 people in the room. Speaker in his introduction of himself said something like:

“I uses to be an Application Service Provider, then I did Software as a Service, now I do Cloud Computer.”

The room, most of whom had been around the block a time or two, broke up laughing.

The real question is do you control the only encryption keys, or not? And how good is the encryption?

And Starmer is a dangerous tyrant.

I use Google Drive to keep a backup of my primary PC. I update it when I update my operating system (annually?). I suppose the government could spend hours and hours looking through my encrypted files. I suppose they would be wasting their time figuring out that my cat likes Meow Mix. They might read my interactions on Free Republic. That would be good for them.

“As I always say, the real danger is planted evidence among all of your files in the Cloud,”

If your computer is connected to the internet they can just as easily plant evidence on it.

I never do. I don't even store data on my cell phone other than four pictures of my kids and a few songs. That's it.

All my data at home is kept on two external storage devices, one SSD and one HDD for redundancy. I don't even keep much on the local PC either. Once data is no longer needed, I store it away externally.

The military is big into cloud storage, and when our network went down, at the base I worked at several years ago, everyone lost EVERYTHING except me because I kept all my data local, even my emails. Afterwards everyone started copying my method of retaining info.

A very misleading headline and article, by the normally intelligent Martin Armstrong. Apple will not “create a backdoor” simply because the insane UK government orders it to. Notice, the government did not order Google to create a backdoor for Samsung or Motorola or Google phones. They all have backdoors built in as “features”. But Apple is different. It doesn’t play that game. The US government under Obama under the pretext of a terrorist interrogation, demanded that Apple create software to break into the terrorists phone. Apple politely refused, explaining it doesn’t have ‘backdoors” and if it were to create one then everyone would have access to it, defeating the Apple promise of user control of their own privacy. If they did that, they would be just like all the others, whose users don’t care about privacy, and nobody would buy an Apple phone at their higher price, which is justified mainly on Apple commitment to security, privacy, and quality.

So, Apple did not obey the UK government and Martin could use Apple iCloud, with the user data fully encrypted and untouched by Apple.

It’s amazing to me — and frustrating, too — how HARD Micro$oft works to cajole my a$$ to store everything on OneDrive, and back my files up to “The Cloud” (i.e. THEIR servers).

It dawned on me pretty early that they’re not doing all that for MY benefit...

>> buy a NAS format it as a RAID and your good

Yep, two NAS boxes, redundant redundancy. Been doing that for a decade, RAID 1, never had a data integrity or loss issue.

Well I don’t intend to give him any money, but I accept his basic premise as true and I also intend NOT to store my data in “the cloud”.
