An American Airlines flight was evacuated and then delayed for nearly five hours in Texas because a passenger had a Wi-Fi hotspot titled, “There is a bomb on the flight,” according to a report.
American Airlines Flight 286 to Charlotte, North Carolina was returned to the gate at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Friday after a concerned passenger showed a flight attendant the alarming name, ABC News reported.
The pilot initially blamed the delay on an “administrative issue” — but then came out and told passengers it was because “somebody renamed their hotspot” to “there is a bomb on the flight,” passenger Bruce Steen, 63, told the outlet.
He said a lieutenant told passengers: “If this is a joke, please raise your hand now, because we can deal with the practical joke differently than if this if we have to do a full-blown investigation of what’s going on here.”
When nobody came forward, all the passengers were escorted off the plane and forced to show police the name of their hotspot, the report said.

Reminds me of the idiot who Zoomed into court under the name Buttf***er 3000.
Identify the scum so he can be placed on a no-fly list, and so the plassengers can file a class action suit against him.
And maybe while he ‘s in jail he can have a blanket party.
Industrial Strength Stupid.........................

When I was setting up my home network, I put Trump in the name. Buddy of mine who was more knowledgeable recommended against it as it paints a target for a hacker if there’s one in the neighborhood. Changed it to an innocuous name.
Being in Austin I’ll take a chance and say it’s a sore looser DemonRAT who has lost or is afraid of loosing their free money grift.
So they looked T everyone’s hot spot name but didn’t mention if they found the guy.
Did they find the guy?!?! Jail time necessary.
Wow. I’ve joked about it before in the security line but only been verbally admonished. Seems like a variety of first amendment issues in the mix.
Some idjit in our neighborhood has named his/hers/its Wi-Fi “FBI SURVEILLANCE”
It’s not as suggestive as much as it is provocative and it’s not as provocative as much as it is retarded.
Maybe it’s “A Bah”!
I have to go back and see that again
I like to use something along the line of, “state security experimental virus distribution point test server”
[Wi-Fi “FBI SURVEILLANCE”]
The old joke was
“FBI SURVEILLANCE VAN”
about 20-25 years ago
One passenger wound up having a very bad day
Years ago I named my home hotspot ‘Hillary4Prison’.
This dumbass needs to have his retarded ass kicked.
