I love Logan’s Run. I actually showed it to a lot of my students when I was a teacher. I mean, I had to edit out some parts for nudity, but I felt it was a great movie. Then I’d show them The Truman Show, and we’d compare.

I’d vote against it being pro-life.

I used to watch the TV series when I was young. The solar powered hover car was cool.

I believe that I saw on the extras that they thought they would have Jon Voight as Logan and William Devane as Francis. Now, that would have been a movie!

When they got Jenny Agutter, it lost its edge and you end up with dystopic Britts caught in a gay love-triangle. Oh, well. It was somewhat bleeding edge, even if it predicted that we would all live in indoor shopping malls.

I have had a lot of fun talking about movies like this with leftists.

I always ask them what kinds of tiny baby steps would likely start a society down that path.

The looks of slow realization on their face is always priceless.

Box the robot was voiced by Roscoe Lee Brown. He was also the cook in the 1972 John Wayne film, “The Cowboys”. What a great voice 👍

Richard Pryor watched it.

“I watched the movie ‘Logan’s Run,’
“There ain’t no ni–ers in it. I said, ‘White people ain’t planning for us to be here.’ That’s why we gotta make movies.”

Fun movie. Irony that they hired actors in their 40s to hunt down ‘runners’ in their 30s.

Logan’s Run? Pro life? Not likely. It celebrates all the lefts love. Death and murder sanctioned by an all powerful government. Great movie. Loved the scene when the kids meet ‘The Old Man.’

“Many interior shots were filmed in the Dallas Market Center, a 4.8-million-square-foot complex consisting of six ultra modern structures on 135 acres, the largest single wholesale merchandise mart in the world at the time. “

“The Love Shop sequence was filmed from July 7 to 9, 1975 in the OZ nightclub multi-level discotheque. It was all chrome and glass with mirrored walls adorned by neon sculptures and mirrored etchings. The dominant colors were purple and gray. OZ was designed by Stan Richards. The business was regarded as one of Dallas’s most chic haute cuisineries and membership-only nightclubs when it opened in 1973. OZ closed in 1977 and the building was demolished several years later.”

“The waterfalls and steps Logan jumps into to get back into the dome are the “active pool” of the Water Gardens, in Fort Worth, Texas. At the time, the main pool was 9 feet deep. It was closed in 2004 after four people drowned near the spot where Logan and Jessica dove in. When it reopened in 2007, the main pool was 2 feet deep.”

Not pro-life. Very pro-rebellion. The story is definitely one for the '60s, what with Logan rebelling against a corrupt government, etc.

The movie is also WAY cheesy, but we'll never see the novel made into anything close to the movie just because of what happens when kids get power ("Lord of the Flies" plus really cool pistols plus sex plus drugs).

Meh. Slow. Obviously filled in a shopping mall. Ustinov was downright soporific...sorta’ pre dementia but the part fit.
Good modern analogy to today as we discover who and what USAID was funding.
IMHO.
