High schools need to be closed.

If federal employees can generally work from home, so can high school kids.

If there’s a high school kid at home studying, a junior high schooler of the family can study alongside.

“Touch SS”

It is well understood that the retirement Social Security ages need to be raised by at least one year (early 62->63, standard 67->68, delayed 70->71) and that benefits need to be cut by 10% overall, perhaps by 1% on the benefit amounts above $500 from annual inflation adjustments over a period of about 15 years.

Kids should not get disability Social Security as Obama’s PPACA reforms made low-income health coverage cheap for low-income recipients. Amounts might be instead paid to their school district when eligible for district services from funds now given to the DoE.

I would BET that Part of your local schools property taxes goes back to the DOE in DC!!

MAKE YOUR LOCALS BREAK DOWN THE PERCENTAGES OF YOUR PROERTY TAXES...SCHOOLS, FIRE DEPARTMENT, WASTE & SEWER, MAYOR etc.!! MAKE THEM SHOW YOU!!

This!
Another option which would impact homeowner’s beautifully...

Send the money currently given to DC DOE directly to the school districts with the caveats:
1-this money must offset the homeowner taxes for the district, where no more property taxes are levied on homeowners for the schools.
2-each district must pass an independent and open audit for fraud and waste.

The tax reductions on homeowners WILL be noticed by them and could swing many elections to red.

Stop blaming the schools and the teachers.

The fault is mainly with the students and their households.

Put a federal tax on cell phone service of 10 cents a minute from 9:15pm to 5am, to be prepaid.

Put a federal tax of cable service of $5/day on residential cable and Internet service that functions at any time from 9pm to 5am starting from 9pm on the fourth Sunday of August to the fourth Saturday of June, to be prepaid.

If the kids get a good night’s sleep, they’ll learn better.

NO federal money for school choice. Federal money comes with control and demands. Federal money will convert home schooling into copies of woke public schooling no matter who is President. That is the only goal of Federal aid for anything- to control and redirect.

““Income Security”, whatever the hell that is.”

Earned Income Credit (refundable, I believe)

Child Care Tax Credit (not refundable, I believe)

There should be no refundable tax credits other than the PPACA.

“The money should be used to lower the national debt. That means not spending it. On anything.”

I came here to post the same thing. We need to cut SPENDING! Not just keep increasing the huge huge national debt.
