Back in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, my son and I used to stop at Waffle House around 4:30 in the morning during deer hunting season on our way to hunt...

But those here thinking Waffle House is superior food wise to Cracker Barrel as a rule must have come up rough
Its news to me that Waffle House is “woke”. The common denominator among all WHs: the female wait staff there looks like they’ve lived tough lives.
Cracker Barrels are closing in California - have no idea why b/c the one we go to is always very crowded. Unfortunately, the recent spike in the price of eggs won’t help their bottom line if they’re struggling (saw store brand eggs yesterday for $9.99/dozen, and there was only one on the shelf).
Closing in maine too.
The governor managed to import enough of the ghetto and illegal problems that the state is effectively ruined
So in that 6 week period I sampled almost everything on the Cracker Barrel menu.
Conclusion: Mostly edible - But not going back anytime soon.

Saw this happen in California, sorry it is happening in your state. Many Dennys have closed because the area became too dangerous.

Waffle House was open during Hurricane Harvey in Houston. The hurricane that got stuck over us for three days and flooded the heck out of us.
I don’t think anything else was open, but Waffle House was, for a few hours a day.
I would think the vast majority of people who can’t do without eggs and for whom the surcharge is a problem would be cooking their eggs at home. The majority of the cost of a breakfast restaurant visit isn’t going to be the eggs.
There is an ‘unofficial’ Waffle House Scale that is used by some Emergency crews.
