@RandPaul
The pursuit for peace should be that of the Israelis and the Palestinians.
I thought we voted for America First.
We have no business contemplating yet another occupation to doom our treasure and spill our soldiers blood.

Rand is nothing more than a rebranded GOP drone.
It’s not an isolated observation.
My impression has been the Paul brand gets donations from anti-semites so these are statements made strategically.
Massie is worse and seems actually anti-Semitic, unlike Rand Paul.
As for voting, Trump was very clear about eradicating Hamas in his campaign.
Paul’s sound bite was disingenuous.
Qatar and the Saudis Muslim Brotherhood conspired with Obama and Hillary Clinton to use ISIS to overthrow Assad in Syria and seize a route through Syria and Northern Iraq to build oil and natural gas pipelines trough the region to supply Europe and Turkey.
This sucked Russia into the conflict to prop up Assad to protect the Russian oil and gas business to Europe. This is also one of the reasons for the otherwise inexplicable split between the Democrats and their once beloved allies in Russia.
Turkey was able to use the Israeli destabilization of Syria and Hezbollah combines with Russia's distraction in Ukraine to takeover Syria and clear a path for a Muslim Brotherhood controlled gas pipeline from the Gulf States to supply Turkey and the EU with cheap natural gas and easily transported oil.
Trump is committed to turning the US into an energy super power with natural gas a the key component. .
US led developments of the Israeli offshore natural gas fields using Gaza as base would be a huge play to bring peace to Israel. They would also be a counter balance to the Muslim Brotherhoods and Turkey's desire to dominate the region
With the US owning and occupying Gaza the security concerns would be mitigated and the massive wealth and economic growth generated by energy developments in Israel would presumably bring enough prosperity to all of the people in Israel that they would prefer peace.
Even if Trump cannot pull this off, the negotiating leverage that it gives him is enormous.
I’m sure Deep State thinks so.
Considering everything he’s stayed schtum about over the years.
Exactly, I can’t believe after all this time these people still jump up and down at everything Trump says.
The only people Rand should be beholding to is the people of Kentucky first and foremost. After that the Constitution.
“You can’t believe that surely?”
Well if he doesn’t, I do, I love Rand he is one of the best we got, but he and his old man’s achille’s heel is that infatuation with the holocaust. He NEVER misses an opportunity to NOT defend Israel. No matter what the circumstances are. There are countless examples of misguided screwed up foreign policy and aid actions taken by the US on a continuous basis which Rand does (and should) speak out against, but he never misses an opportunity to point out anything that may help Israel whether it fits the America First principal or not. If there is any example where exceptions should be made, it is in defense of Israel. It’s like a moth to a flame with him. He just cannot, will not, without exception miss an opportunity to bash anything that may help a Jew under the guise of whatever conservative catch phrase of the day is, such as America first. Not suggesting anyone should hate the guy. Like I said I love him, but he does have that one evil flaw that he just can’t tame.
You’re spot on!
Rand is right.
America First.
No more Americans dying to prop up governments in foreign lands.
What I meant was the context of this thread. I agree with Rand that we shouldn't be starting wars. That being said, I think I made it clear to everyone else but you that in this case Rand should cool his jets and let Trump work his Art of the Deal tactics and demand a lot (i.e. U.S. intervention in Gaza), knowing the others will negotiate him down to what he really wants (i.e. the Muslimes agree to leave Israel alone).
Those who hate Trump take everything he says literally. While those who support Trump take everything he says seriously.
Venezuela was refusing to accept deportees. Trump announced he was making a deal with El Salvador, and opening Guantanamo, and suddenly Venezuela agrees to accept deportees.
I think Rand is a drama queen if that's what he thinks Trump is doing here. He likely hasn't even talked to Trump about any of this, or even knows what it all entails, but Rand like Schumer, has to get his face in front of a camera to keep himself relevant.
People who reject being civilized will never be civilized.
GOD BLESS AMERICA and GOD BLESS PRESIDENT TRUMP!
... and P.S. I do appreciate and admire Rand Paul! I don't agree with him 100% but he is a true patriot.
I get that Trump has an ego, and is probably thinking about his legacy here. That’s fine, it takes egostical people to do great things.

You’ve been consistent on this whoever is in office
Rand is correct. The Middle East has been a battleground throughout recorded human history. Every outside nation that has intervened in this region has been unable to pacify it — Babylon Empire, Ancient Persia, Alexander the Great, Rome, European Christian Crusaders, France, Great Britain and now the United States. There is no compelling national interest for the US to occupy Gaza indefinitely. Gaza does not threaten the homeland. We should have learned that lesson in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is up to Israel and the other nations of the Middle East to resolve the problems in Gaza.
Trump’s conservative voter base is very against foreign military intervention to solve other nation’s problems. Trump runs the risk of dividing the coalition that put him in office by getting the US military into a costly overseas occupation. Israel is a wealthy nation with a strong military.
The revelation that USAID spent $50 million buying condoms for Gaza was a huge blow to the progressive Democrats using USAID as a money laundering and funding vehicle. Most Americans were appalled by this clear waste of taxpayer money and the Democrats could not defend the expenditure or the preservation of the agency. Sadly, the next day Trump announces his intent to send the US military to occupy Gaza. His public relations “win” was immediately trashed.
Trump was elected to assert US interests at home and abroad not Israel’s national interests or the interests of any foreign state. Where our national interest coincide we can cooperate. Where we have no compelling national interest we should not be involved. Being allies does not require us to support every venture or initiative of our allies. For years Western European nations have been allies with the US on common defense (NATO) but we have often pursued dramatically different economic and social policies.
Israel often pursues interests which diverge from US interests. Remember Jonathan Pollard spying for Israel against the US? Remember the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty? Israeli transfer of advanced technology to China has been an ongoing sticking point from time to time in the US-Israel relationship.
The true test of friendship is how a friend behaves when you are suffering misfortune. When the Hamas attack on Israel occurred last year, the US quickly sent billions of extra dollars in aid to Israel. During his first week in office President Trump visited western North Carolina to see the widespread hurricane devastation and plight of the people. He commented on the inadequate response of the federal government and the need for significantly more support to house people and rebuild infrastructure from this extraordinary nation disaster. This begs the question, how much humanitarian aid has our closest allies (Israel, Europe, Japan, etc) sent to help Americans in western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee, South Carolina and northwestern Georgia? From what I have seen the answer is -— ZERO.
To make America great again we need to focus on the United States and its citizens, not people and nations an ocean away. These “allies” don’t care enough to help out when Americans are on their back. Why do we constantly deplete our treasury, and spill the blood of our soldiers, to help them?
Bingo.
President Trump has said so many outrageous sounding things - that later don’t sound so outrageous - I’ve lost count.
Exactly. Pity more folks- particularly those in DC - don’t get it!
