It’s not July....It’s frigg’n winter. I’m hibernating here in Upstate NY...That’s the way it is.
Here in northern CT the driveway is a skating rink (rain, then freeze, then a coating of snow).
Walking the dog means hanging on for dear life while he slides around trying to get his footing.
It is a total comedy show.
I went skiing yesterday at Mount Sunapee in central NH near the VT border. It was about (-6) driving up at 7am.
About (-4) on the first chair lift at 8am.
What was interesting was that it was 10 ABOVE ZERO at the TOP of the mountain.
Meaning the colder dense air sinks down in the valleys on those cold clear nights.
It was a FACE MASK day until about 11am. No exposed skin.
The conditions were the best of the season so far. Plus, the cold temps kept the weekend crowds away.
....spent 6 years in Syracuse while at S.U. ....talk about cold....winter of 1967-68, 18 degrees blow zero for a frikkin’ week solid.....supposed to be a balmy 79 degrees today here in Central Texas; 78 tomorrow.....
