This was nothing more than an unfortunate miscalculation on somebody’s part. The CRJ was in its most vulnerable position, gear down. flaps set, and reducing speed for landing when the Blackhawk flew into its path. What was going on in the Blackhawk cockpit, I don’t know. I feel like the flight crew was fixated on something or other rather than their intended flight path. It happens, I’ve seen it during my AF career.

I am setting aside the DEI crap for now. It is a cancer and your points about New Zealand and LAFD are spot on. However...
No one can convince me that there is any good reason for this training to be happening in an area where there is commercial air traffic within 100 - 200 feet vertical separation. This is INSANE.
Just listen to some of the causals being bandied about:
Pressure setting mistake 29.79" should have been 29.97" - oops
BH altimeter calibration not done prior to flight - oops
NVG being worn / not worn - oops
So while we try and make sense out of DC / FAA / military stupidity, there are probably still dead figure skaters strapped to their seats at the bottom of the icy Potomac waiting to be recovered.
Of course I want the root cause to see the light of day. But please stop this madness of +/- 100 feet tolerance with peoples lives.

I just thought it was weird that nothing was mentioned about her home schooling until High school.
If the parents were conservatives, she sure wasn't.
If she was the trainee, how is she responsible for anything even if she was piloting?? I can tell you right now that if a STUDENT DRIVER car hits yours, you won’t get squat from the teen’s family. That is the responsibility of the driving school.
The lawsuit remains against the army here if there were to be one from the airline and passengers. So what difference does it make where she went to school or her sex orientation? As long as she is a legit trainee, her mistakes are the fault of her supervisors. Also of course dead 🙏🏽
Re: 87 - I’d say based on what people believe regarding this mishap, there’s lots of anecdotal evidence to support that.
My nephew was home schooled for his entire primary education, which prepared him to earn a master’s degree, which included fixed wing, rotary wing, and instructor ratings. He’s now flying a rotary wing LEO billet in NYC.
His parent’s absolutely did not want him exposed to communism or wokism via the public school system. MAGA!
I remember Trump’s original response to this event. If he said it once he said it 5 times.
‘The airplane was following all protocols and doing everything correctly...the helicopter was too high, (or too low)... NOT where it should have been. It was in the wrong place.

I read SkyDancer’s profile years ago. So impressive! Why in the WORLD would you assume anyone believes she achieved via DEI? OF COURSE she didn’t; no sane person would believe that. (She excelled before DEI.)
