The NBA landscape has completely changed after an early morning blockbuster three-team trade that is one of the most shocking in league history.

The Mavericks are sending Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to the Lakers while Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick are going to Dallas, according to multiple reports.

The Jazz are the third team in the deal and are acquiring guard Jalen Hood-Schifino and two 2025 second-round draft picks from the Clippers and Mavericks.

Think about that Mike Tyson fight a few months ago.

Sports rating are driven by star power. People don’t want to just watch laundry.

I think a big part of the problem is that all the NBA Stars are coming from AAU basketball. They’re all buddies. No rivals.

Compare Donic to Jokic.

Really the same player but Jokic is just taller.

Both play at the highest level without having to jump very high or run very fast.

Jumping high and running fast can cause muscle strain and injuries not to mention more collision causing injuries.

Jokic really has had no such injury history.

Donic has muscle injuries because he doesn’t put in the work to train at even a minimal level.

I used to be a big pro basketball fan, not so much anymore.

That said, one has to admire both Lebron and Steph Curry for the amount of work and conditioning they put in to keep their bodies on the court.

Off the court Lebron is an idiot and Curry was a pimp for the FTX ponzi scam as was Tommy Brady not to mention there is not a woke cause that either has not embraced.

I must laugh as Dallas fans are killing the Mavs for the trade.

Fact is Mavs won a title 2011.

When was the last time those Cowboys won a title?

I’d say it’s even money that Mavs win another title before the Cowboys do.

How ‘bout ‘dem Cowboys, they just signed a Schotty coach.

Apparently, he's a heavy 🍺. Now he's 25 so he'll have to learn how to train if he wants to stay in the league in the next couple of years. He's already missing most of this season to injuries so I guess that was the last straw for Dallas.

I agree with you, I’m not a fan of LeBron James, to his credit, he’s kept himself in shape and motivated for his entire career and is still putting up great numbers as 40 years old and over 20 years in the league, despite making literally billions.

The NBA has so alienated their US Fan base, the TV ratings in the US are in complete freefall, China is producing all the revenue for the league, 10s of millions of people tune in to the NBA games combined with the merchandise makes the NBA owners rich and the player contracts astronomical.

If China were ever to be cut off from the NBA it would devastating to the owners and player contracts.

Oh God, don’t let the trade take place. Any team but the Lakers.

Doncic will heal and if not this year, but next he will help the Lakers win a championship.

Anyone trashing Doncic just don’t like him. The guy should have won at least one MVP already.

Luka Doncic’s trade from the Mavs has made him INELIGIBLE for a $345M SUPER MAX CONTRACT 😱

I agree with you. He should have an MVP already. What do you mean heal? He's currently ranked #4 in the MVP race. If he had a serious injury, the trade would not go through.

Since the NBA has stopped trades before, it probably should stop this one.

This trade was grossly unequal. I can't think of a reason the Mavs did this. I am sure another team would offer them more than the Lakers did.

Why didn’t he threaten to retire from the NBA and play in Europe to scuttle the trade? Why doesn’t he have a no trade clause?

The poison pill doesn't apply to him: 11 Players Affected By Poison Pill Provision In 2024/25

Still, he should tell them he's going back to Europe.

He should. Realistically, he’s probably too drunk to care.

What evidence do you have that he's drunk. I looked around and didn't find anything. This is not the kind of thing you can hide today.

All the grade for this trade gave the Lakers an A+ and the Mavs an F. One even said that even if the Mavs won the finals, it would still be a terrible trade.

Basketball players and players from other sports have been waying in saying the same thing.

Unless he keels over tomorrow, this will go down as probably the worst trade in sports history. And it will generate conspiracy theories because a team like the Lakers got the best young player for nothing.

In short, this trade only makes sense if one believes that white people cannot, and should not play basketball.

He may or may not be a drunk. But he's known for drinking 🍻. How many? No idea. But enough to have an effect on his conditioning and that forced Dallas trade him to L.A.

I've read about this trade. There is no way this trade was because of conditioning.

If his conditioning is so bad, why would the Lakers take him? And any other team would have taken him to. If he's top 4 in the MVP race with bad conditioning, that's even more reason to keep him.

The Mavs deny it, but the insiders think the only logical reason is if Doncic demanded it. But still, they could have gotten a better return on the trade from another team.

If his conditioning is so bad, why would the Lakers take him?

They're not paying him $350 million.

He'll have to settle for $229 million with the Lakers instead. If he turned out to be a bum, it's not as bad of an investment. Besides, they'll still get to still sell jerseys and tickets off Luka even if he ends up getting hurt all the time. Especially with LeBron retiring.
