How long can the appalling Musk-Trump bromance go on?
Guardian ^

Posted on 01/31/2025 7:14:59 AM PST by DIRTYSECRET

Should the bromance come apart, it is likely do so with a bang heard. To say the relationship is symbiotic is an understatement. Trump has the political power; Musk has endless money.“

It’s clear that (Musk) has abused his proximity to the president,” one Trump ally told Politico. “The problem is the president doesn’t have any leverage over him.”

I’ve been saying since day one that Musk is not a conservative ideologue*, this is a “marriage of convenience,” and when the bromance ends (and it will), it will do so violently.

*Neither was Trump45 but Trump47 has had his “Road to Damascus” conversion.

The Chief of staff assigns offices. You don’t get to that level without a pretty hefty ego.

That move can be put down to spite and envy. Trump and Musk probably did not even notice or care

Heard that the offices near Trump were not large enough for the staff Musk will need. The not near the oval office thing is YT gossip.

Oh, BS. How has Musk "abused his proximity to the president"?

Bannon and the other useless debris from Trump's first term need to get over their school-girl jealousy.

**Earlier this week, Elon “demanded” that America’s Lousiest Mayor, Mayor Bass of LA, resign or be recalled due to her failures connected to that inferno.
While I agree with Elon on this point, it is not his place to make such statements**

Disagree. It’s timing. Now is the time to pile on. Strike while the iron is hot-literally.

Musk always knew that Trump was going to end the EV subsidies and still supported Trump through out

Funny how the Bannonties are still here squealing about Musk every day.

Bannon was racing around guaranteeing he was going to get Musk fired and Musk would not spend 1 day in White House

Well we are 11 days in and Musk is till in the WH.

My guess the “Trump ally” shopping this mythology around to the Junk Media is Sour Grapes Bannon

>>how do you see this playing out?

Musk redirects his energy into projects that promise better profit to fund his political goals that support Trump. They’re both business people. I don’t believe Musk is into electric cars because he’s fixated on that climate garbage. I believe it was an up and coming financial market that is now played out and it is time for the funds to be redirected into something that will be the next profit center.

When Musk has done all he can to help Trump “fix” what the left has broken, he’ll turn his attention to other countries. He’s South African, not American. Which is fine. His beliefs are similar to Trump’s and apply well to other countries that need help fixing what their versions of the left have already destroyed.

He’s yet another billionaire using the money he sees as being more than enough for his own use to further the causes he believes in. But unlike most of the others, I agree with Musk’s positions and applaud every penny spent to help Trump.

Trump will use anyone who can help him. Their relationship is mutually beneficial and will continue until it isn’t. Which is fine.

Oh man... Musk is now considered a Demigod and Archangel? Is this even rational?

Something to remember. There was once a loyal Angel who defied God’s grace for power and his name was Lucifer.

No Musk is just a man. And as a common man he has all the same fallacies and immoral traits as any other common man.

How many times does he have to contradict himself before people see he is at heart disingenuous?

Elon is estranged from his father, so maybe he sees Trump as a father figure, or, at least, some mind of mentor.

Folks,

Sometimes you have to read the heart of the warrior, not just what he does. It is the stuff in-between what the media is telling you.

People do change over time and perspective changes.

Both these men are warriors, I will go into battle with them. That is my test of the man.

“I understand the media is trying to drive division and Trump is mature enough and has been around people long enough to handle somebody like Musk, who tends towards the obsessive.”

Of the two men, Trump is the stronger personality and the one with the power... and also with enough savvy to know he will have to be ‘reining in’ Musk on certain issues. We need both in conjunction with recovery operations for America, IMO. All of this projection and propaganda is merely meant to create chaos and division, per usual, by the radical (Musk-hating/Trump-hating) left.

I have to laugh at any fervent Trump supporters who apparently now so readily believe the same media lies and slander against Musk (for instance, the Nazi salute BS) as the media has thrown against Trump, and are still throwing. As is always said here, consider the source.

I’m detecting a lot of bloat in the federal government.

I think return to the office is a must to see which people need to be retained and which people need to get laid off.

Elon Musk is a flawed man, just like the rest of us. He does amazing things routinely. He has supported with Starlink 3 times when he did not have to do that and turned around X.
Yes, he is far from perfect, he is changing the world.
