Since you will not ask an airline pilot (I also assume you don’t know any)
and you refuse to google it and post the answer here,
I have a very easy way to help you understand,,,,just call the Washington National Control Tower at 1-703-413-1530. Just ask them the winds at time and the active active runways at the time of the crash.
The tower personnel are usually very friendly and helpful (it would help you even more if you lie and tell them you are a pilot...lol).
Heck, its really easy, you can even ask them about tailwind operations. Enjoy!
