Braga Fresh Recalls Broccoli Florets Sold At Walmart Over Listeria Concerns

Federal officials have upgraded a chocolate recall to the highest risk level over fears that consuming the product could “cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”

Three products from Cal Yee Farm — Dark Chocolate Almonds, Dark Chocolate Apricots and Dark Chocolate Walnuts — have been given a Class 1 classification for containing undeclared milk, according to the FDA.

Undeclared milk in food products can lead to serious health issues for people with milk allergies, including hives, cramps, dizziness, swollen vocal cords and unconsciousness, and cause death, according to the FDA’s update, which was issued on Jan. 22.

I detested pizza the first time I laid eyes on it when I was a teenager. Thought it looked, smelled and tasted truly yucky.

Now that I’m old, I have more reasons to avoid it: Too salty, bad for your heart. Don’t eat pork or cheese because of saturated fat.
Plus, pigs are smarter than dogs and I’m not eating your cocker spaniel.

Read the book “Wheat Belly” by Wm. Davis, MD. He demonstrates that for some weird reason wheat raises cholesterol. Gave up wheat for 2 months, went to my MD and my LDL was normal, no more statins. I detest the idea of prescription drugs. Take one, Lisinipril, because I have a slight heart problem.

I’m 88, my MD says I’ll easily live to be 100, which I need to do because no-one else could put up with my bitchy kitty.

I remember and recently bought one on AMZ. Can’t make it work though, not as good as those of my youth.

I loved Mad Men too.

John Hamm as ad man Don Draper was a brilliant and very handsome actor. The scripts were interesting too. Very well done. I had some old friends in the Ad Biz in Chicago, really smart, talented people.

Thanks for that info. I’ll get a copy.

My MD is really terrific, far more interested in keeping me healthy than curing disease. He’s from Nigeria, where med schools are not funded by Big Pharma, so he prescribes 11 vitamin and mineral supplements for me. Actually, I’ve been taking them for the last 40 years, so in a sense, I’m teaching him.

I’ve had a church key from the ‘70s in my kitchen drawer for decades. There are some things you just don’t want to get rid of for sentimental reasons.

Sun Ting Wong. As a diabetic, dark chocolate is a small part of my diet. Very concerning development.

How do people have allergies to milk when it has been a staple in this country for centuries. Those who were allergic would have been eliminated from the gene pool long ago. Do those with the allergy have ancestors from countries with little milk available?

Doesn’t ALL chocolate have milk in it?? Isn’t that common knowledge??? Isn’t that why it is called milk chocolate!!

Not all chocolate is milk chocolate. Many dark chocolates, what I prefer, do not have milk although some might in small amounts or from cross-contamination if they are also making milk chocolates on the same production lines.

It is important for food manufacturers to list all the ingredients, especially known allergens, so people with those allergies can make informed choices.

I currently work for a cookie manufacturer and our entire campus is peanut free. This includes administrative buildings not attached to the manufacturing buildings.

We are not allowed to bring or consume any food containing peanuts or peanut products (like peanut butter) nor can any food containing the same be sold in vending machines on the premises.

That may seem extreme but is done to prevent any cross contaminations and so that we can certify our products as “peanut free”, and something some of our major customers like Wal-Mart insist on.

“Doesn’t ALL chocolate have milk in it?? Isn’t that common knowledge??? Isn’t that why it is called milk chocolate!!”

Certainly......but you don’t think that’s gonna deter some ambulance chasing lawyer from trying to squeeze the manufacturer for a buck do you?

This kind of thing is right up their alley.

“All this means is they forgot to write in milk on the ingredients label”

Bingo! This hysteria is so misconstrued and misrepresented! And this thread fell for it hook line and sinker. I can’t believe it.

There is nothing wrong with the “Chocolate” at all. There is something wrong with the “Package” the chocolate comes in.

So in essence this is actually a recall of the “package” not the product. The media is misconstruing it to sound like the Chocolate can kill you.

“But I still think the headline is scaremongering.”

It absolutely is! This writer must normally cover Trump stories! It is outright misrepresentation period!
