This is the type of “think piece” that Lindsay Graham gets off on - the Russians are evil and have to be stopped!!!

This is what you would call historical fiction. In actuality, it may be called hysterical fiction.

Ukraine cutting off fresh water to Russia’s Crimea naval base had much more to do with it.

Condensed Timeline of the Ukraine War:

January 2022: Putin says that he will not invade Ukraine.

February 2022: Putin invades Ukraine.

March 2022: Putinists blame Ukraine for the bloodshed, because the Ukrainians did not politely surrender their capital city to the Russians.

Ultimately what matters is when and if Western Europe will develop the will and use its wealth to defend itself from external threats. These external threats include imposition of an Islamic state.

Unless something changes immediately most Western European nations will have Islamic majority populations within 25-30 years and their democracies will be replaced with Islamic dictatorships by majority vote of the people. This demographic wave, due to deliberate loose immigration policies, is a greater threat to democratic government in Western Europe than Russia.

The US has a choice. Continue pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into defense of wealthy western countries currently committing cultural suicide or using our resources to defend the homeland, rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, rebuild our education system, return to self sufficiency in manufacturing and energy production, while returning to fiscal sanity in the management of the public purse.

The choice is very simple for the American people. It is long past time for taking care of our own priorities and allowing Europe to freely choose its own destiny.

Didn’t the Panama Papers reveal that Ukraine was where a lot of the evidence was being kept that implicated most major political figures in money/drugs/child trafficking? Can’t quite remember the details or if I’m thinking of something else. Remember a documentary tying some stuff from Ukraine to a lot of people. etc? Anyone?

Thanks for the post. The end of the article says, "What this aggressive re-colonizer requires, more than anything, is a resounding defeat."

Like so many voices in the media, academia and politics, this above summary statement is long on clarity of stance and hugely short on "so how do we do that."

So -- how do we do that?

Years of sanctions have not worked as yet. Ursula von der Leyn's odd speech at WEF hasn't worked yet. Hope about EU nations' "boots on the ground?" Media stories from many quarters and opinions from opinion makers firing salvos of words, reloading and firing salvos of more words hasn't worked. The Hill's op-ed and director at the University of Amsterdam, Andrew Chakhoyan, hasn't offered an actual plan with any details as of today. So....

How do we do that? More words? Lots more words? Sanctions? Lots more sanctions?

Really, how do we do that?

Some of the rhetoric is over the top, but the basic point about Muskovy, Kieven Rus, imperialism, and addiction to absolute rule is 100% correct. A perfect illustration of that is how the various non-Russian ethnicities/nationalities comprise a very disproportionate percentage of the cannon fodder for Ukraine.

Too bad it wasn't the spirit of Norvogord or Kiev that ended up dominating Russia. Instead, it was the autocratic spirit of the Mongols and Czars that survived in the Russian psyche.

I disagree with the article. Russia is a member of BRICS and the war against Ukraine was an attempt to displace the Dollar as the world’s central currency.

What was SUPPOSED to happen, is that Russia was to take over Ukraine and use the oil and energy resources to leverage NATO to stay out of China’s invasion of Tiawan. But the “shock and awe” that was supposed to happen ... didn’t. This was a gross miscalculation by Russian generals. Now Russia is stuck in a meet grinder, trench warfare that has used up much of Russia’s offensive capabilities and manpower.

Hysterical how people think if they insist “Russia bad” long enough, the money will keep flowing and defeat will follow. War is not an episode of Superman. Bad countries can win wars just as easily as good ones.

Oh, Gawd, another F@#$in moron who discovered the history books aisles in the library and managed to read something.

Yah sure yah don’t want to trace this back to Noah’s ark? It went aground in that region. Surely, there is a relationship.
