The new feature, announced by the Office of Personnel Management, aligns with the goals of DOGE.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s administration is testing a new capability that would allow officials to email the entire federal government workforce from a single email address, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) said in a statement Friday.

The new capability could allow Trump to communicate directly with millions of federal workers across dozens of agencies simultaneously, with a single click of a mouse.

The White House declined to comment.

The effort aligns with the government modernization goals of the new Department of Government Efficiency, headed by tech billionaire Elon Musk, and could take advantage of his team’s engineering experience as they seek to wring savings and efficiencies from government systems.

At least one agency tested it Friday.

In the early years of DHS some idiot in DC accidently sent an email to the entire agency.
I remember when that happened. It was hilarious.

The fact is, the government databases, particularly the IRS are apparently archaic and compartmentalized.

Far more true than most people realize. Many of these systems have been designed implemented and upgraded over the course of decades. Database A does not talk to database B, however database C, which was designed 15 years later, talks to both of them. None of them talk to database D because even though it's newer it was never intended to be anything but a standalone system....

You can bet the unionistas at the IRS do everything they can to deter any actions to upgrade these systems. Efficiency and technology is the enemy of corporate and government agency fiefdoms.
