China’s submarine-launched drones can do more than the US military thinks: study

Amid reports of a new US military plan for an underwater drone release, scientists say China has already done it better, The US military is reportedly considering a tactic that involves deploying a submarine near the Chinese coast to release a large number of drones from under the water. These drones would then form a swarm in the air and launch surprise attacks on the People’s Liberation Army fleet during any potential attempt to land in Taiwan, thereby reducing the need for US ships to get too close to the combat zone and risk being hit. But there’s a twist: China has already turned this idea into reality, and test flights suggest its drones could accomplish much more than the Pentagon has envisioned for its own.

More worrisome than the Tic-Tac is the thought that Red Chinese subs could get so close undetected.

Taiwan has no oil.

There is no need for Chinese troops to land on Taiwan. They need only embargo oil tankers. The US will certainly object and maybe try to escort tankers, but hypersonics can hit either the tankers or more likely the ports.

No oil means food doesn’t move from warehouse to shelves to mouths.

The only impediment to this is all military senior officers would like to achieve immortality by leading huge armies in land battles that will be recorded forever. But warfare need no longer look like that.

Taiwan starves? Taiwan surrenders.

So stop with this silliness about invading Taiwan. There is no need for this.

Our US Navy and PACOM in general does NOT UNDERESTIMATE the PLAN.

PACOM was my customer for x years prior to my retirement. The serious people were singular in their focus.

“Taiwan has no oil.”

Nor does China.

Embargo China’s oil.

No oil means food doesn’t move from warehous to shelves to mouths.

China starves. China backs off.

China pumps 4.5 million barrels/day. Burn rate is 14. Pipelines from Russia and Kazakhstan supply a few. The rest by sea from Iran and KSA.

They would not starve. They have enough to move food.

There is a big difference between Taiwan’s 0 and China’s 4.5 mbpd.

China has other weaknesses, a certain huge dam, for example.

4.5 millon barrels/day??

Wow!!!

The Unites States, with an economy that is not that much larger than China’s, uses 20 million barrels per day with a much smaller population.

China has to import 72% of its oil needs.

It has to import most of its fertilizer and has the poorest farmland in the world.

China owns 50% of the world’s hogs, its staple meat for consumers, and has to import the feed for the hogs from the west - the United States and Brazil.

China, with its big dam in the crosshairs, is not going to attack Taiwan. The time is past for sending an army over 100 miles of open sea. Sitting ducks.

Missile attack? No. China is not interested in acquiring rubble.

I think that is what I said. You do not need to invade when you can force them into starvation.

The tankers have to arrive, and they also have to offload. Pretty easy to destroy the importing ports. They can be repaired, but not fast.

And every day, fewer folks in Taiwan would have food that made the trip.

If one thinks the US would counter blockade the China import ports, well, maybe, but if that happens China doesn’t starve. 4.5 mbpd plus what comes in from Russian pipelines and Kazahkstan (not much, maybe 2-3 mbpd) pipelines will move food from warehouses to mouths. There won’t be much sunday afternoon drives with the family, but the family will have food.

The Taiwan families will not.

Oil is everything. It decides everything. If you have none, you’re at a huge disadvantage.

If China had intended to go to war with Taiwan, it would have done it when Biden was president.

There will not be a war with Taiwan and the commuunists have mismanaged China and cannot avoid its coming oblivion.
