THey rarely let you read the affidavit....largely because it identifies the complainaint ion most cases.

( for example: Ex wives are known to file false affidavits for search warrants...exercising their wiles on LEOs sometimes.)

If an officer knocks at our door, a rare thing, I always do not allow them into the house. I go out to the porch and speak there.There are all sorts of DEI shenanigans going on right now.

The served was given a copy of the affidavit in support of the search warrant. They could read it while we searched their property. Remember, an affidavit is a sworn statement given to a judge or magistrate. I always took it seriously, as I did anytime I raised my right hand and said “I so swear”.

Handle it however you see fit but I would only speak at them through a locked screen door.
