“When I turned 60, a doctor tried to put me on statins for cholesterol”

I’m 75 and Kaiser just sent me an email that said I needed to go on the statins or I could have a heart attack within 10 years. They really push the stuff. I’m not doing it after I read up on it.

Same for me on statins. I told my doctor #1 I’m not concerned about cholesterol, it’s plaque I’m concerned about. Cholesterol is absolutely necessary for life. #2 Statins reduce LDLs but the wrong kind of LDLs. They reduce the benign ones that present no problem to our health. We’ve been sold a bill of goods on statins. #3 If the statin crosses the blood brain barrier, it eats the the cholesterol in our brain (where 23% of it is). This causes memory loss (stated on the list of side effects) and dementia. All risk and no reward for the patient. But $ for Big Pharma.
