Definitely 1997 . Things are changed, Bloomfield is a ghetto except for a few outlying areas. [My family is from there since the 1830’s]. East Hartford is a dump [Pratt and Whitney is a shell of itself]. Avon looks like the Berlin Turnpike nowadays even though it has pricey homes. I lived in Hartford over by Frog Hollow /Trinity area in a Perfect six Apt house for several years when I first married. Had to move out of Hartford because of crime, Insurance, cost of living, schools [horrible], lack of city services [you would not see a snow plow after a storm for days]. I had to leave and never looked back.

I worked at Trinity College in the early ‘90s, when Tucker Carlson attended. Area was dicey even then. My father worked at Coleco in the early ‘80s. I contracted at Pratt and Whitney in the mid-90s, and I was sweet on a girl in East Hartford in the early 90s. I worked at West Hartford MicroAge/DeSai. in the mid-90s. I cannot imagine Avon being like the Berlin Turnpike. I had a pal there who lived near the cider mill and worked at the HiJo’s.

No point in going back. I miss the New Deal Steakhouse and Valle’s.
