I am SICK of tipping every person everywhere I go!!!!!!!!!!!!
ENOUGH already!!!!!!
Oh, and then you have to give money to every charitable organzation as well as well as the charity drives at work and church!
MY family comes first. NOT everyone else’s!!!!
I get where you’re coming from.
My wallet would be a little more wide open to the door knockers and bell ringers if I didn’t have to write a sizable check to the feds/state every April, with the knowledge that much of it is going to diversity programs and the like.
Perhaps with the advent of DOGE, our tax dollars will now be used more responsibly, with more of it going to those in need.
“MY family comes first. NOT everyone else’s!!!!”
Amen.I tip when dining out but 20% ontop of overpriced food and the $22/hr people make here in CA. Come on! 10% across the board. No more no less.
Me and the Missus, love to go to a certain diner. Friday prime rib dinner for $31 bucks a plate.. Awesome, because we split the plate and add an iced tea and a side plate. After dinner, being it was my wifes birthday we added a few things, and the bill came to $50 bucks. I rounded it off to $60. But on the way out the door, the waitress gave me the side eye of scorn.
That tip was about 20%, how much do they want?
You seem to have strong feelings on this topic. Or perhaps I’m reading to much into your reply
Having worked for tips in my youth, I tend to over tip if service is excellent. I’ve recently started using grocery delivery and always request the driver bring the shopping inside. If they are nice about it, I add a few bucks in cash to the already offered electronic tip. Virtually every driver has been very nice. Nowadays with, so many people sucking off the dole, I appreciate those who are willing to work. I really don’t eat out, so no issue there. Charity for me has always been helping someone that I know, or know of, in need. That and St. Jude’s.
And now those tips are destined to be tax free. I would seriously consider reducing tip amount downward if the servers are exempt from income tax, and my income is not.
When and why did 20% become the norm?
10% use to be the norm and 15% for exceptional service.
and then you have to give money to every charitable organzation as well

because the govt and our taxes are not enough?
Tipping is so out of hand.
Yup. Tipping is not for takeout.
It’s for good service.
They also forgot not signaling when turning or changing lanes. Simply swerving into someone else’s lane without warning is NOT acceptable.
Same with driving slow in the left hand lane.
The tipping requests have gotten really annoying. I encountered one last week that tops all that I have seen so far. I purchased something online from a small company. The item was expensive to begin with, but, at checkout I was asked to tip the “team”! Needless to say, I did not.
