President Trump announced Wednesday that he selected Sean Curran, one of the agents who rushed on stage during the Butler, Pa., assassination attempt, to serve as director of the Secret Service in his second term.

“Sean is a Great Patriot, who has protected my family over the past few years, and that is why I trust him to lead the Brave Men and Women of the United States Secret Service,” the president wrote in a Truth Social post.

Trump, 78, touted Curran’s 23 years of experience at the Secret Service and his work as assistant special agent in charge of the Presidential Protective Division during hisfirst term.

That’s one job where a F up means something quite unfortunate.

Training has nothing to do with being too short to screen him and too weak to carry him if necessary.

She needs to be reassigned. Maybe to protect some of the kids or wives of other protectees?

Give her to Shrillary, or Moochelle, or Lady McBiden.

No confirmation required for this position. Maybe it should be though...

I guess not every SS agent was in the “loop of incompetence” if that is the term and I have my doubts if ALL the negligence within the SS can be attributed to incompetence.

As far as I can tell the death of Matthew Crooks closed this case tighter than the death of Lee Harvey Oswald closed the JFK coup d’tat.

Obviously there was a lot of “office” politics within the agency.

I assume Trump picked this guy because he may have been an outsider in that regard.

Sounds like he just appointed one of the agents who almost got him killed…

Great, make that acting Secret Service guy clean bathrooms. He yelled at the GOP senators who questioned him and sneakily snuck into a Presidential photo, total loser, you’re FIRED!

Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned in late July following the Butler shooting and was replaced by Acting Director Ronald Rowe.

Rowe needs to pack his bags as well.

You may want to rethink your assessment. Curran being in close proximity to PDJT certainly is not in charge of scouring the roof tops for an assassin with a rifle. PDJT was in the middle of his speech when he was shot. How was Curran supposed to prevent that? Curran was there to protect PDJT from immediate threats in the nearby crowd not a bullet fired from 150 yards away.

I will defer to PDJT on this one (duh - like I have a choice). He clearly trusts this man with his life. This choice is clearly a lightyear improvement over Cheatle and Rowe.

The moment in the Inaugural Parade on 1/20 when the crews from Butler, PA paraded in front of the president was the greatest gesture made by President Trump. He or his advisors were really using their heads! To remember the deceased firefighter, Cory Comperatore that day was icing on the cake. The greatest parade ever!!!

I miss Keith Schiller, the guy who ran Trump's security before he was elected President.

xcellent. The merit system works again.

Should stop the ignorant posting by multiple posters that agents who first protected President Trump were incompetent, etc.

And the portly woman -who can’t handle her own weapon- at least body blocked albeit in the wrong direction. Didn’t see anyone blocking Trump’s back, leftside -where the shots came from.

I meant this was an excellent choice based on merit. Not a DEI choice.

Also, the shots came from the NE direction of Trump if he were standing fa ing due north.

It was closer to 150 FEET away - well within the scope of her responsibilities. As an aside, HOW IN THE HELL did they NOT. have ALL rooftops in the are locked down? Complete failure - i will not posit any inference as ro the intent here, that would be more of a can of worms than i care to open.

“I’m through second guessing Trump. Whatever he wants OK by me”

Agreed. People on this forum were so rabid about Trump becoming POTUS again they attacked every other politician that had the audacity to run against him in the most vile ways.....and I strongly suspect some of those same people are now questioning some of his decisions.

I guess that’s the great thing about hiding behind a keyboard anonymously. Lol!

Well I have reservations about Hegseth and Noem but if they fall on their face Trump will get rid of them and name someone else so why worry about it?

3 days in and Trump already has the deep state reeling. He has overwhelmed them. Its incredible!

++++++++

Wrong. Roof top shot was 130-150 YARDS from Trump.

HOW IN THE HELL did they NOT. have ALL rooftops in the are locked down? Complete failure

++++++++++++

We agree that this was a complete failure. However, rooftop patrol was not under Curran’s purview.
