ABC News’ Kyra Phillips speaks to rapper Nelly ahead of his performance for President Donald Trump’s Liberty Ball.

And flashback, there’s a lyric in one of his songs that said:
“Donald Trump let me in now. Spin now, I got money to lend my friends now”
W.I.N.N.I.N.G!
Bump
I wished they’d shown his performance (or if they did, I missed it). Nelly seems like a decent guy…and I do listen to his music. Most of the comments at the YouTube link were supportive, but there were plenty crappy remarks, too. Good for him for choosing to perform in the face of the hateful criticism.
I liked him in a movie I saw :)
50 Cent makes me laugh plus I like the Power series
Well, the original and Tommy’s. I’ll watch Raising Kane sooner or later.
Cent says he doesn’t choose side because he’ll lose a lot of fans either way. He’s right.
But you can tell he likes Trump...he liked Bush II...even if I didn’t by the end :)
Most rappers that become famous come from tough backgrounds.
They respect a fighter who takes on the system and get shot and stands up and raises his fist in the air!
One rapper said “he’s got 3 baby mommas, a record and he’s been shot at, he’s more rap than some of us!” :)
Of course the convictions are nonsense....but it was still a funny comment.
30 percent of black guys under 30 voting for Trump is HUGE.
They are saying “we want part of the dream and dems aren’t giving it to us”
I’m Italian American...we tend to vote conservative for sure.
About 50 years ago we had our “this identity politics of the dems SUCK and we are getting upwardly mobile..time to leave dems!!”
It’s great to see it happening to another group of folks.
Somebody flipped a switch and now all the black rappers are free to support Trump like they always did. No more having to pretend that he’s a racist.
The Dems really get uneasy when Blacks leave their plantation and free themselves from the shackles of Leftist policies.
