Get rid of the playoffs and go back to the bowls. Let the coaches and sportswriters choose the national champions.
And while we're at it, let's get rid of transcontinental leagues, weekday games, the two-minute warning and 7:45 PM kickoffs.
:)
Same here.
I guess I guess ND could have won if they didn’t put Robbie in;

Ohio is like Texas...it has enough outstanding homegrown football talent to populate the whole country.
“Get rid of the playoffs and go back to the bowls. Let the coaches and sportswriters choose the national champions.”
Agreed. And go back to Big Ten and not Big 18, and the other original conferences as well. Dump NCAA.
Game was over in the second quarter - switched back to the inauguration. As it was a bit tedious listening to the Fox talking heads drone on about the same stuff over and over, we switched to CNN to get some humor. The panel there was still in denial over the election and was faux-incensed over the EOs being signed. Very entertaining ...
I wonder where all the fire Ryan Day OSU fans are?
Going back eleven years to find something in the attic to brag about, but not as bad as Notre Dame going back 36 years and the cupboard still bare.
O-H-I-O!!!!
If the Buckeyes hadn’t lost that terrible game to TTUN, I have a feeling that they wouldn’t have made it through the playoffs. That loss was such a bitter pill, but it helped them learn something that they needed, in order to be successful.
It’s interesting that two teams who didn’t have to play a conference championship game made it to the Championship Game.
Also that all four teams that had the bye week, lost their games. I think that the conference champions should host their games, instead of having them at a neutral field.
Any notre dame players catholic?
Is the Pope Catholic?
Good point. Notre Dame was still Catholic back in the Lou Holtz days. They have won nothing in football since the University began to drift away from their Catholic roots.
One team didn’t HAVE to play. One team didn’t GET to play. The Big Ten was over-represented in the top ten teams.
I don’t know how it works for the other conferences, but Indianapolis plays host to a lot of NCAA events, not just the Big Ten football championship. Lots of revenue there to lose. There will be a lot of squawking if that changes.
Bye weeks can have that effect, but rarely does every team with a bye lose in the next round.
I’m sure the conference gurus will make changes to the “system” again very soon, maybe even for next season.
You missed Notre Dame’s comeback. It was a much closer game than you thought.
The Catholic Church was still Catholic back in the Lou Holtz days
Marcus Freeman converted to Catholicism a couple of years ago, so Notre Dame may have some glory days ahead of them.
