@TheHodeman
I again reiterate that Trump will likely free Ross Ulbricht.
The chair of the Libertarian Party assures us that she has a deal in place with him. According to her, she's busy working on getting ANOTHER political prisoner freed (I'm interested to see who!).
The chair also said that he tried to free Ross during his first term and the papers were slow-walked back. If this is true, the pardon is basically a guarantee.
The pardons were always scheduled to take place after the Inauguration Party tonight.
I understand we're all eager to see him freed. I, too, am refreshing my news feed constantly.
But he reaffirmed he'll be issuing the pardons less than an hour ago (from this post). He's still got another 4.5 hours (from this post) to come through.
It's hard to be patient, but let's be patient. Just for a little while longer.
If that deadline passes, however, it's appropriate to go ballistic

“Libertarians showing some angst”
Considering how many seats they’ve cost the Republicans, not much sympathy here.
Still some time they say ...
Why should he be freed? Wasn’t he using the dark web to deal drugs, among other illegal substances?
I may be wrong, but I don’t think he was. Others did use his creation to do so.
It has been a while since I read anything about the case.
He was the operator of the marketplace, yes
He never did anything personally but he ran the place
He’s been in jail since ‘13 for it
DEA Agent Sentenced for Extortion, Money Laundering and Obstruction in Silk Road Investigation

A former Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent was sentenced today to 78 months in prison for extortion, money laundering and obstruction of justice, which crimes he committed while working as an undercover agent investigating Silk Road, an online marketplace used to facilitate the sale and purchase of illegal drugs and other contraband....
Oh; Wikipedia left out that part (or I skipped it).
Given Wikipedia, chances are it was deleted to continue their habit of lying by omission on political issues.
They’re a huge source of disinformation if I ever saw it and misinform citizens on many issues
Should come with a health warning that site (when they aren’t begging for dwindling donations)
They’re substantially worthless for anything having to do with political issues.
I know you feel strongly about it but a lot of the original case was bunkum and a show trial
The Feds wanted him in prison for a long time and they got their way
He didn’t commit any heinous crime beyond running the marketplace
The plot and murder to hire he was never convicted of let alone put on trial for
I still fall into the trap occasionally but you’re right
Got to be careful with that site it’s very tainted on a range of issues.
Plus the fibbies were involved. And hopefully by now everybody knows if they say the sky is blue, you’d better go outside and check.
The worst thing you can say about him is that he facilitated a drug marketplace.
He kept it clean of other illegal stuff and collected the $ in Bitcoin (which is now in federal hands and worth billions)
However yes, the marketplace was in banned substances and might have been irresponsible but life in prison without parole is ridiculous and harsh
He has served 12 years. How long more ? Rapists get less and Ross is a non violent, model prisoner.
This is why he’s a prime contender for a commutation hopefully in a few hours time
He was trumped up charges.
Black Pirate Roberts won’t get out just yet -maybe eventually but not soon.
They’ve been doing it for decades but now more people see it
Thankfully
The corruption runs deep there. Trump will do well to fix it (impossible I feel)
