Just saw a Bon Scott documentary. Angus wore the school gear because he had no time to change his clothes between school and guitar practice. I never knew.

"BTO is the biggest band in rock & roll! Did you ever see those guys? They're huge!"

Bigger than Canned Heat? "They call me, call me Big Fat! Cause I weigh 300 pounds!"

“Had a guy in high school who’s sole daily attire was a (were?) black AC/DC tee-shirt(s).”

Geordie – Treat Her Like A Lady

From Brian Johnson’s band prior to AC/DC, and not typical of their sound. People who heard this commented that he sounds a bit like Bob Seger here.

I remember reading in a band biography that keeping the school uniform on was a suggestion by his sister. Angus had tried a few other gimmicks before that, such as a Superman outfit and a gorilla suit.

That reminds me of an interview Slick had done, talking about the first Jefferson Airplane tour of Europe they did with the Doors; the way she talked about Jim Morrison’s drug-taking habits made her band sound like teetotalers by comparison.

Scott’s problem was he subscribed to the love fast, die young and leave a good looking corpse.....he accomplished two of the three anyway. 😏

Depending on what your reference is, the biggest selling album of all time is either Michael Jackson’s Thriller or the Eagles Greatest hits.

First time I heard “You Shook Me” on the radio, I thought it was Bob Seger.

Same here. When this album came out, I bought it and played ‘Back in Black’ every morning while getting ready for the school day.

Heck of a family, the Youngs. Older brother George, played with The Easybeats, of ‘Friday On My Mind’ fame, and he along with Easybeats bandmate, Harry Vanda, went on to produce a lot of songs in Australia, including the first AC/DC albums.

I found out about Fraternity originally from AC/DC biographies. While that band were touring England, they played a gig with Geordie and Bon and Brian met each other; Bon used to recount seeing Brian perform to Angus and Malcolm, which led them to having Brian audition for them in 1980.

Of course she soft-pedaled her own drug use. Can’t have someone think she was a complete addict, after all. Sure, some used more and more often than her, but not many from what I could see. Jim and Jerry gave her a run for her money in that department.

He was VERY charismatic and took to heart the role of frontman and all that that entailed. Brian has always been just one of the guys, very “everyman” as I previously stated.
