Where I live has a large Mormon presence. I may have to ask a Mormon friend about this.

It’s not in this thread but recall someone saying to have bottles of liquor on hand for bartering.

I don’t know what is wrong with you but on the second day of the thread I finally got you to start participating in your own thread in which you asked us for advice, advice which required you answering some of our questions to you and filling us in on your own situation and prepper needs, and interacting with us on some of our responses.

I said RECORDED history. Learn to read. Toba was not in recorded history and what it did is the subject to debate. STRIKE ONE!

nobody is going to die if a storm comes thru and you're absent power for a day or three or five.

Yes, you can and people have so there goes your second "so-called" point. STRIKE TWO!

Oh and then there was 1348 and the Black Plague.

And none of those cause the "end of the world" scenario you proposed either. Strike THREE. You are OUT.

You are officially dumber then a fence post and not worth listening to.

The end of the world has a pretty much precise definition.

It is not 90% casualties. It is 100% casualties.

Toba or its clone is not obligated to take place in any particular time frame. All it’s obligated to do is generate 90% casualties. Which has happened and can happen.

I’ll have to go back and check the numbers but I’m pretty sure if the time frame had enabled plague to reach the Western hemisphere, it probably could have managed 90%. The year of numbers are usually quoted as 40%, but that constrains a timeline in and of itself. The more clear numbers are from England and the clergy at individual villages. Rather a lot of that record keeping noted deaths in the village that grew and grew and then the records stopped because there was no one left to record. Very common to achieve 100% deaths in individual villages but, like the Irish potato famine, there was frantic emigration as well as death.

The population of Europe did not recover from plague until Columbus returned from the new world with potatoes. The ultimate prepping.

Nobody really knows what stopped it, either. The concept of burning out is always popular, but that’s just words that mean we don’t really know what stopped it.

Haven’t the faintest idea. I was reading down your thread and had never heard of purchasing cans for prepping like that so looked it up and, as there wasn’t a link, posted what I found.

My prepping is done thru Amazon. I set aside part of my fireplace room for maybe 30 cloth shopping bags organized with staples that could provide vitamins and protein in an emergency and use them as a super pantry. Wouldn’t help long term, but would take care of shorter outages. Just have to make sure they get rotated thru regular usage.

I know a lot of churches do canning for shipment of food overseas so I assumed it was something along those lines.

So, ebby, last week you were directly asked if you accepted Pope Francis as your Pope. You have been asked several times by several people. You finally answered. “Yes.”

I was willing to accept your answer as a full and complete answer. I was hopeful for you.

Things changed as has your answer. I am sorry that it appears you were playing your usual word games. “Three Catholic popes vs Jorge Bergoglio? I’ll go with the Catholic popes.” And regarding Pope Francis, “At this time, I’ll pray for his conversion. When, and if that happens, I’ll pray for his intentions.”

I also saw this comment from you today: I don’t think Joe Biden was ever legitimately elected POTUS, but I have accepted that he is POTUS. It seems this is how you treat your Pope. And your answers with word games. Do you need corrections?

You call people liars. Your word games amount to lies, dontcha think? ImagineThat!

Presidents can lie, foister.

What’s your problem?

So what?

I don’t accept your claim to be a practicing Catholic by the way you support sodomites and their filthy, sinful lifestyles.

I think smaller cities might even be worse. In larger cities you might have infrastructure to control the feral hordes. If you are wealthy or connected, you may be able to retreat to a safe zone that is protected by the sizable police forces in those types of large cities. There are areas in the big cities where authorities are currently able to maintain control.

In cities like Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Akron, Dayton, Toledo, Detroit, Pittsburgh, etc….I think it would be far worse. The local authorities will lose total control immediately. There are currently no areas of cities like this that have not already been taken over by 3rd worlders.

The hordes will travel miles out into the suburbs to loot.

You will want to be a minimum of 20 miles outside any “urban” area or you will lose all of your preps within weeks of the event.

Interesting perspective. Personally, I’m more focused on having backup to stay alert. I have a friend who has a cabin in the mountains of Montana but it would be difficult to bugout to in the winter. In west Nebraska there are people who have purchased and converted underground missile silos.
