Legal immigration is not a good thing either. In my opinion legal immigration needs to be curtailed or stopped altogether. The US is a post industrial society and does not need to import any more labor. If wages were exploding then some immigration may be good but wages are flat or have been falling for the last 3 decades so that is not the case.
Folks who favor immigration (of any type) fall into one of two categories.
1. Some have a childlike belief that no matter how full the boat is, there is always room for many more. That’s not logical on the face of it.
2. Some look at it from a jobs point of view. We need that labor! Well, no. It’s not 1920 anymore. There are no longer any factories and mills begging for help.
