I plan to have FR open on my iPad while watching the inauguration. But I'm also preparing for the possibility that FR won't be available.

We are talking about people who will spite anyone they perceive as the enemy. This site has been on that list for a loooong time.

Seems to me Firefox also limits how much access we have to Newsmax. When I access it sooner or later Firefox disables my reading too many of their articles. DuckDuckGo doesn’t have that problem.

IMHO, FR is small fry (not enough people) and not on the left's ban list. Plus, the left has changed tactics since then and rarely fully ban like they used to. They're more liable to shadow ban and reduce the number of people who come across FR (i.e. through Google search, or perhaps mess up the domain name resolution so that freerepublic.com in the URL box doesn't work, but the IP address 45.79.56.181 does).

The only reasons I remember for FR going down was server failure and forgetting to renew domain name and the latter still allowed getting here by IP address.
