A neighbor’s Ring doorbell footage captures the moment a group of officers walk down the hall, where they encounter the man, who is not visible in the footage.
Muffled voices can be heard in the clip, though their exact exchange is difficult to decipher. Deputy Chief Rohan Griffith said in a late Sunday press conference that cops repeatedly demanded that the man drop the knife.
The footage then shows a female cop encountering the man – who remains out of view – and yells, “Wait, wait!” before firing off two round

If they shot the man through the door, that’s going to be pretty hard to justify!
My son was in Marine Presidential Security Forces and then federal law enforcement. Based on that he has told me of his training and experience there is no way he would have fired his weapon. On the left side of her belt should have been a tazer. He would have probably not resorted to that and instead been able to deescalate the situation.
It might be the wide angle lens, but it looks like two fat chicks.
A segment in the video seems to be missing, so it's later, and now it seems half the police force is there.

A knife is a DEADLY weapon. You don’t meet deadly force with lest-lethal force like a tazer. If the guy started moving on her, she was correct in using her pistol.

There’s an episode of ‘Adam-12’ where the cops answer a call about a woman waving a gun on her front porch. The cops take cover, then calmly resolve the situation. There’s no shooting. No one gets hurt.
Yeah, I know that’s TV, make-believe. But it’s also what the public expected to happen in those days. Today we rather expect the cops to shoot someone.
Maybe it’s a different kind of crazy person now. Or a different kind of cop. Or both.
So , as I read it, the cops shot the man who called the cops?............

From what I can tell, big-city police departments are in a death spiral. Few young and competent police officers care to join them. Better to find a position in a nice suburban police department. And who can blame them?
So the cities hire what they can get.

Yes, it seems they shot the resident who's A/C was being stolen. The victim was outside confronting the thief. Near the end of the video, they show the victim opens a door, steps through it and is immediately shot. Quite possibly a bad shoot.
