Love their music, even if it was overly drug induced. Sad bit of irony about the house though.

The Doors? I liked ‘Touch me’. Nice love song. Other than that, I just never cared for singer(s) screaming into a microphone.

Things haven’t changed in the entertainment world. Most can’t handle being rich and being looked upon as gods and goddesses.

When they met at film class Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek were sitting on the beach and after Morrison finished a casual guitar song which Morrison sang, Manzarek said: “You and I can form a group and we’ll make a million dollars someday.”
Seemed laughably absurd.

Jim Morrison’s father was US Navy Rear Admiral George Stephen Morrison (served in action in WWII and Korea) who led the Carrier Division during the Gulf of Tonkin Incident in 1964.
On August 2, 1964, the USS Maddox was attacked by three North Vietnamese Navy torpedo boats.
The Maddox fired warning shots, but the North Vietnamese boats responded with torpedoes and machine gun fire.
This incident gave the Johnson administration the justification to increase US involvement in the Vietnam War.
